Seeing with the Soul

14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.  - Ephesians 1:14(New Living Translation).

Seeing with the Soul

God, I need a man who loves me
I’m so alone
It scares me that
no one loves me

Child, not one, but three
love unconditionally

Father, where? I don’t see them

Child, look not with your eyes
but with the heart and soul

Father, do they have eyes?
Help me, please?

Child, you are not seeing life
with the understanding I gave to everyone
First, I created all to be like me
Next, I sent a Saviour to die for human sins
Then, I raised Him from the dead
to be with all humanity forever
and prepare a place
when believers come home to me

Yes, Father, I understand
I just want someone with skin on him

My child, when you truly love
the Father
the Son
and the Holy Spirit
giving praise for everything received
only then will I know
you are ready for the gift
I hear in your desire

Open my heart and soul then Lord
that I may see as you
let me perceive according
to your will, not mine
I praise your patience
with me Father

Note: I'm not sure why, but this verse from Ephesians inspired this poem. I'm sure this is what the Father wants from me.

About the Poet
Michelle Angelini, aka Chelle, has been writing poetry for over 40 years. She has been published in many Southern California chapbooks and calendars. I am retired and dealing with my health issues. My Saviour, Jesus is always with me. God holds me within His wings. I am working slowly on a second book poetry and possibly my photography. And, I'm over 65 now and still loving it, even though my social life is not what it once was because of the painful fibromyalgia. It's quite frustrating, but I know Jesus still has "work" for me to do to show how much He blesses me.
