This Star

This is the night;
see that single star in the sky?
It leads to a new-born baby
laying in a feeding trough,
no fancy crib or swaddling clothes.

His mother and father look on,
as do the cows, horses, pigs, ducks,
and others - this is their home;
He is just borrowing it to let the world
know Christ has arrived.

This special baby.

Others come too:
the sheep led by their shepherds,
three kings with fragrant gifts –
led by an angelic multitude,
announcing Him from the heavens;
then they left.

A baby who is – Immanuel.

When they saw it was true,
they understood.
But Mary, his mother, pondered
so many things in her heart
and soul.

About this special baby.

Hers.
The world’s.
Mankind’s.

Luke 2: 17-19

About the Poet
Michelle Angelini, aka Chelle, has been writing poetry for over 40 years. She has been published in many Southern California chapbooks and calendars. I am retired and dealing with my health issues. My Saviour, Jesus is always with me. God holds me within His wings. I am working slowly on a second book poetry and possibly my photography. And, I'm over 65 now and still loving it, even though my social life is not what it once was because of the painful fibromyalgia. It's quite frustrating, but I know Jesus still has "work" for me to do to show how much He blesses me.
