No Fancy Words  10/29/2018

My bank account and wallet are empty

my fridge is nearly empty

It’s been like this for a couple

of weeks, before I get paid.

Help me to lean on You

to trust you; know you’re there

during these recurring difficulties

I often feel alone and ugly

quite depressed; these challenges defeat me

Lord, let me know you’re there

and that I can talk to you any time, in any way

I have chronic pain, and my activities

are often limited, so I spend

more time in bed than I feel

comfortable with

Christ Jesus, heal me, lift me up,

letting me know that I can do more

than I think I can

I have so many creative gifts

from you, but I’m often too

down in the dumps to use

them, even knowing they

will alter my mood

Change my heart and spirit

Father God; give me

the push I need

to fly out of this nest

I’m tired of living like this,

Lord, be my helper; that

the Holy Spirit will infect me

with strength; that it will

guide me

This is my plea Christ Jesus

Be there for me. Help.

About the Poet
Michelle Angelini, aka Chelle, has been writing poetry for over 40 years. She has been published in many Southern California chapbooks and calendars. I am retired and dealing with my health issues. My Saviour, Jesus is always with me. God holds me within His wings. I am working slowly on a second book poetry and possibly my photography. And, I'm over 65 now and still loving it, even though my social life is not what it once was because of the painful fibromyalgia. It's quite frustrating, but I know Jesus still has "work" for me to do to show how much He blesses me.
