First Clematis
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Michelle Angelini

first clematis

lonely clematis

first one to arrive

grace this unadorned stone wall

before long other blossoms will flourish

craft a blush carpet

along this tall divider

awakened from winter’s

slow sleep opened lilac blooms

brighten fertile vines

in summer’s mirthful rotation

invite into your center’s heart

honey bees and hummingbirds

to feed, to spread your beauty

companionless clematis you live

today and die tomorrow

while you breathe the Lord

loves your provisions

when you expire He will gather

all your companions into His arms

as He does with each cherished creation

Note: I wrote this poem after I was inspired by a photo Nan Forehand included in her Calendar. I cannot post it with the poem, since it is not my photo, but those of you who received her Calendar for 8/2/09 know which photo it is. Thank you Nan, for the beautiful inspiration.

About the Poet
Michelle Angelini, aka Chelle, has been writing poetry for over 40 years. She has been published in many Southern California chapbooks and calendars. I am retired and dealing with my health issues. My Saviour, Jesus is always with me. God holds me within His wings. I am working slowly on a second book poetry and possibly my photography. And, I'm over 65 now and still loving it, even though my social life is not what it once was because of the painful fibromyalgia. It's quite frustrating, but I know Jesus still has "work" for me to do to show how much He blesses me.
