True Love

TRUE LOVE

So high has He put his love
higher than the highest height
such that nothing can make it move
not even when our flaw has weight
Truly God is like a dove
so gentle and so harmless
loving us despite the pain
we cause him pain when we move away
away from his presence of gain
where the surrounding smells of love
No not like the world knows it
They love when they are loved
They despise when they are despised
but that is not the way of our God
who loves most when he is hurt
His love has put over our mistakes
Such that no matter what we do to him
The more of His love we see
Oh how He longs to express love to all
Reproducing himself in us to use
but how we have limited him
By putting our eyes on our Faults
Buying the world's standard for love
Yet true love cries for expression
Because God will never be tired
of loving us through ourselves.
