A Star
Are there days you feel alone
And you think - no one cares Perhaps someone let you down It seems God has not answered prayer Clouds obscure the sunlight rays Dusk hovers near, - with no reprieve Then faintly, stars come into view When oh when will this gloom leave ! Then as you survey the many stars And meditate upon your plight Behold a ray of hope shines through Hope that will brighten up the night "You are a star in someone's sky" Someone looks up to you Kindness you displayed to them On their dark day, helped them through "You are a star in someone's sky " How you responded to an ugly task Gave them courage to do likewise Because of you, in God’s love they bask "You are a star in someone's sky " They saw you "turn the other cheek" When false accusations were hurled Yet your disposition remained meek "You are a star in someone's sky" When you think no one cares Remember someone counts on you To them, you're wheat among the tares A loved one that is close to you Holds you in high esteem You are a star shining in their sky That's reality,- and not a dream Colan L Hiatt = 07-10-16 © All Rights Reserved |

About the Poet
I live in N.C., and have been writing poetry for several years. Writing is the greatest "outlet" I have ever experienced to release my inner emotions, and express my stance on spiritual issues. Most compositions, are derived from observing
"down-to-earth" events that occur around us. Many offer a personal "mini-story" with a metaphor of spiritual implications that portray God as the ultimate solution to life's problems.
My goal is that any and all compositions will present Christ and His sacrifice at Calvary as the solution to problems encountered along our journey.
