Twinkling Of An Eye
(*) (1st. Cor. 15:52 ) With eyes fixed on a digital clock What I observed may seem strange With the blinking of the eye I could fail to see a number change Yes, just a twinkle is all it took For a new one to appear My mind wandered to Corinthians (*) I found a great truth to be clear At the sounding of a trumpet The dead in Christ shall rise Free from corruption, to be with Him Forever home, beyond the skies For many years, some have lived In a body, wracked with pain But in that twinkle, God will give What medical efforts failed to obtain I marvel that how sudden This transformation does occur But, "His ways are higher than ours" This, I'm sure we can concur Marvelous are God's attributes Far above what we can comprehend To all who accept His invitation Unmerited grace He does extend No infirmities, will Heaven know Pain and sorrow no more will be He will give, - in a twinkle Eternal bliss, - for eternity Colan L Hiatt = 12-31-15 © All Rights Reserved |

About the Poet
I live in N.C., and have been writing poetry for several years. Writing is the greatest "outlet" I have ever experienced to release my inner emotions, and express my stance on spiritual issues. Most compositions, are derived from observing
"down-to-earth" events that occur around us. Many offer a personal "mini-story" with a metaphor of spiritual implications that portray God as the ultimate solution to life's problems.
My goal is that any and all compositions will present Christ and His sacrifice at Calvary as the solution to problems encountered along our journey.
