A Body Hast Thou Prepared Me
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

A BODY HAST THOU PREPARED ME

The Seed of Mary born of God

   Beyond the grasp of man

Brings Heaven's Glory down to Earth

   In ways God only can

When awe-struck Mary failed to see

   Such things were quite unheard

Her bowing reason humbly said

   According to Thy word

A body hast thou prepared me

   Eternal Word had cried

And fearfully yet willingly

   The Virgin's womb replied

But willing souls receive Him still

In them His life will grow

As Born Again from Holy Seed

   His fullness they will know

When rocks cry out as living stones

   And God begins to build

His holy habitation comes

   Compacted as He willed

Until the New Jerusalem

   As bride adorned descends

And Bridegroom's shout of victory

   Forevermore ascends

About the Poet
Born in Anacortes WA USA on 11/24/1944. Raised mostly in Nyasaland(now Malawi) by missionary parents. Married to Carol, an Australian, who is the mother of our four children. After Seattle Pacific University and graduate studies at Princeton Theological Seminary and marriage, spent over two decades in missionary work mostly in Zimbabwe. Currently in Anacortes, but for 12 years did a regular program on www.swradioafrica.com where I sometimes shared poetry which I have been writing, off and on, since 1962. God's faithfulness is from everlasting to everlasting.
