Risen from the Tomb

              Risen from the Tomb

Lie here tonight within my yearning breast,
Take rest inside this heart which seeks for Thee,
Pray see my spirit poor by Thee is blessed,
Give ear, I ask, and hear my humble plea.
I will anoint and wash Thy painful wounds,
And soon soft linens over Thee I'll lay,
Pray stay, tonight, take me Thy empty tomb,
And fill my heart this eve and every day.
And when, dear Lord, Thou enters in my heart,
Impart to me Thy love, forgive my sin,
Begin a spirit life in me, a start,
For then, Thy light will shine from me within.
And when, dear Lord, Thou rolls the stone away,
My heart will rise with Thee on Easter Day!

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
