Once in a While

Once in a while,
on soft summer nights,
shadows lure me
to lay on cool grass,
with the warm earth
for a pillow,
to sleep for Eternity,
away from catabolism's
onslaughts,and time's
piercing shrapnel,
but it's hard to travel
that unknown path
away from the familiar.
Still, those shadows
of soft summer nights
tempt me-once in a while.
