November Rain

November Rain

The song plays softly,
gently bathing fallen leaves

on a cold November night-
a lullabye to make one forget

the unknown, the dark corners,
perhaps waiting for tommorow,

for the next day, the next year.
The heat of its breath sears

smiles, lips too scorched
to give in to bliss,

but when the lullaby plays
softly, gently, the sun shines

at midnight while the moon
steps aside to do a soft shoe.
