Good Things
Monday, June 23, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. - Proverbs 4:23(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
10 Those who know Your Name will trust in You, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. - Psalm 9:10(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Lets treat others as we would like to be treated, remembering that we don't always know the burden they may be carrying. - Cindy Hess Kasper -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
If we pause to think, we'll find cause to thank. - From Reminisce Magazine -
God's truth is the best protection against Satan's lies - From Our Daily Bread -
The woods would be silent if only those birds sang who sang the best. - From Reminisce Magazine -
LOOKING BACK IN MY TIME:
I had quite a lot of experience with horses and mules when I was growing up on the farm. This was before the day of the tractor, so we used horses and mules for plowing our fields and for transporting farm items and even making various trips to town, church or other places in a wagon since most of the time we didn't have an automobile. At times we would ride horses to different events around the country. - From Everett's Writings -
NOTES:
We had rain this morning before and after daylight. I don't know what time the rain stopped but it stopped quite a while before I left for lunch at 11:15 a.m. We had almost a quarter of an inch of rain at my house. High temperature today was 81 degrees. I went to the post office, then to Walgreen's to check on a prescription, then to the Petsense store and then to Walmart. I took my nap with Smokey and Tony. Friendly was nearby on a shelf. I put food out for the cats around 6:10 p.m. and sat with them for about 30 minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things. Remember, if you would like to be dropped just let me know and I will understand.
The cats are fine except Beau is not eating and keeps trying to cough something up. He may have something in his throat. I will take him to the vet in the morning if he still has the problem. Rascal and Smokey are with me in the den at present. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday. Everett

Good Things
Sunday, June 22, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
(The Apostle Paul wrote) 9 "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God." - Philippians 1:9-11(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
(Jesus said) 42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will return." - Matthew 24:42(New International Version).
A QUOTE Conversion is far more than just changing our final destination. It's changing the way we spend each day of our lives. - Julie Ackerman Link -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Be grateful for what you receive, but more grateful for what you can give. - From Reminisce Magazine -
If you can't grow old gracefully, do it any way you can. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Wisdom is understanding what's really important. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
I am running late tonight so I will make my notes short. Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 89 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful inspiring service. I had lunch at home. I had my afternoon nap with Tony. I put food and treats out for the cats at around 6:15 p.m. and sat with them for a while. At around 7:00 p.m. I put the garbage on the street for pick up in the morning. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Leo, Lucy and Tony are in the den with me and Emmy just went outside. Friendly and Rascal have also been around recently. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week. Everett.

Good Things
Saturday, June 21, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. - Proverbs 16:23(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:12-13(New International Version). :
A QUOTE:
It's futile to try to hide our sin. - Marvin Williams -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
A friend is someone you can do nothing with and enjoy it. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Our love for Christ is only as real as our love for our neighbor. - From Our Daily Bread -
You can't make any points by talking in circles. - From Reminisce Magazine -
LOOKING BACK:
My father died in 1929 when I was four years of age. My mother was only 42 years of age but she never remarried. My father was the second husband she had lost by death by the time she was at age 42. We lived on the farm and many times we would have to work six days in the week. I never remember a time when we had to work on a Sunday, no matter how badly the work needed to be done. My mother always took us to the little country church on Sunday. - From Everett's Writings -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 90 degrees. Kathy cleaned my house while I went to lunch. I had lunch at the little town of Krebs that joins McAlester on the east side. They had a catfish dinner there today at the community center. Charley and Bill were there also. I came home and took my nap with Smokey and Tony. At around 4:15 p.m. I went to the post office to pick up my mail and I also stopped by Dominoes and picked up a pizza for my evening meal and I have enough left over for two meals tomorrow. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the cats and sat with them for about 15 minutes. At 7:00 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program from 1966 which was a very good program as usual. Thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Friendly just came in and is the only one with me at present. Leo just left out and Friendly will leave after eating a bite of dry food. I haven't seen Emmy this evening but she sometimes stays out late.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Everett

Good Things
Friday, June 20, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. - 1 Peter 3:8(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
7 We live by faith, not by sight. - 2 Corinthians 5:7(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Doing the right thing should not be dependent on whether our employer is around or if anyone else is watching. It's not always easy or convenient to be obedient. But it's right. - Cindy Hess Kasper -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
If you are a Christian, remember that people may judge your Lord by what you say and do. - From Our Daily Bread -
The greatest of all faults is to imagine that you don't have one. - From Reminisce Magazine -
The moment you're waiting for may never arrive; the one you just missed will never return. - From Reminisce Magazine -
JUST LOOKING BACK:
As a boy growing up on a farm I had a little experience with cattle. Our family had milk cows. These cows would have calves every year. The calves would later be sold if they were males or maybe kept for milk cows if they were female. I had to help milk the cows every morning and every night by hand. I did not like this job. After milking I would wash my hands. We had no plumbing at all in our house so I had to pour water into a basin to wash my hands. - From Everett's Writings -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 90 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then by Walgreen's to pick up a prescription. I took my afternoon nap with Smokey. I put treats and food outside at 6:00 p.m. I sat with the cats about 30 minutes this evening. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.
The cats are fine. Rascal and Smokey are with me now lying on two different desks. A Mocking Bird gets after Friendly all the time. The bird doesn't seem to bother the other cats much like it bothers Friendly. Friendly is a tortoiseshell color. The bird hits him on the back but Friendly just walks along unconcerned. Of course the bird knows how to maneuver and not be caught. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Saturday. Everett

Good Things
Thursday, June 19, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
3 Since you (O Lord) are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of Your Name lead and guide me. - Psalm 31:3(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
(John the Apostle said) 3 "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.'" - Revelation 21:3(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Jesus taught that being ready for His return requires living according to our Master's will now. Will we be prepared when it's time for the real thing? - Joe Stowell -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
The bank of friendship cannot exist without deposits. - From Reminisce Magazine -
We smile because we are happy. But we also become happy because we smile. - From Go For It -
When God's Word is hidden in our heart, His ways will become our ways. - From Our Daily Bread -
A THOUGHT ABOUT CATS:
Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a cloudy day. We had light sprinkles of rain sometime during the night but not enough to measure. About noontime today we had rain but it didn't last over an hour. High temperature today was 87 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office and then to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription. I took my afternoon nap with Tony. I put food outside for the cats around 6:05 p.m. and sat with them for about 15 minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.
The cats are fine. Rascal just went out the front patio door and Tony is sitting on an office cabinet near me. Emmy just came in from outside. A little while ago I heard Leo jump on the van from the top of the house. I don't know why he can't walk around the house from the back to the front rather than coming across the top of the house. I have seen all of them this evening. Emmy and Tony went back outside and Rascal just came back in. I better close before I have to report something else that a cat has done.
Have a nice Friday. Everett
