GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. - Proverbs 16:23(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:12-13(New International Version). :

A QUOTE:

It's futile to try to hide our sin. - Marvin Williams -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

A friend is someone you can do nothing with and enjoy it. - From Reminisce Magazine -

Our love for Christ is only as real as our love for our neighbor. - From Our Daily Bread -

You can't make any points by talking in circles. - From Reminisce Magazine -

LOOKING BACK:

My father died in 1929 when I was four years of age. My mother was only 42 years of age but she never remarried. My father was the second husband she had lost by death by the time she was at age 42. We lived on the farm and many times we would have to work six days in the week. I never remember a time when we had to work on a Sunday, no matter how badly the work needed to be done. My mother always took us to the little country church on Sunday. - From Everett's Writings -

NOTES:

Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 90 degrees. Kathy cleaned my house while I went to lunch. I had lunch at the little town of Krebs that joins McAlester on the east side. They had a catfish dinner there today at the community center. Charley and Bill were there also. I came home and took my nap with Smokey and Tony. At around 4:15 p.m. I went to the post office to pick up my mail and I also stopped by Dominoes and picked up a pizza for my evening meal and I have enough left over for two meals tomorrow. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the cats and sat with them for about 15 minutes. At 7:00 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program from 1966 which was a very good program as usual. Thanks for reading the Good Things.

The cats are fine. Friendly just came in and is the only one with me at present. Leo just left out and Friendly will leave after eating a bite of dry food. I haven't seen Emmy this evening but she sometimes stays out late.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Everett
