Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. - 1 Peter 3:8(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

7 We live by faith, not by sight. - 2 Corinthians 5:7(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

Doing the right thing should not be dependent on whether our employer is around or if anyone else is watching. It's not always easy or convenient to be obedient. But it's right. - Cindy Hess Kasper -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

If you are a Christian, remember that people may judge your Lord by what you say and do. - From Our Daily Bread -

The greatest of all faults is to imagine that you don't have one. - From Reminisce Magazine -

The moment you're waiting for may never arrive; the one you just missed will never return. - From Reminisce Magazine -

JUST LOOKING BACK:

As a boy growing up on a farm I had a little experience with cattle. Our family had milk cows. These cows would have calves every year. The calves would later be sold if they were males or maybe kept for milk cows if they were female. I had to help milk the cows every morning and every night by hand. I did not like this job. After milking I would wash my hands. We had no plumbing at all in our house so I had to pour water into a basin to wash my hands. - From Everett's Writings -

NOTES:

Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 90 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then by Walgreen's to pick up a prescription. I took my afternoon nap with Smokey. I put treats and food outside at 6:00 p.m. I sat with the cats about 30 minutes this evening. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.

The cats are fine. Rascal and Smokey are with me now lying on two different desks. A Mocking Bird gets after Friendly all the time. The bird doesn't seem to bother the other cats much like it bothers Friendly. Friendly is a tortoiseshell color. The bird hits him on the back but Friendly just walks along unconcerned. Of course the bird knows how to maneuver and not be caught. I have seen all the cats this evening.

Have a nice Saturday. Everett
