"Lacy Wonders"They play to us in their infinite way,
Showing us how free they are,
reaching out n' touching the sky.
Fragile,lacy,oh so colorful.
I'm so glad they're back.
Thank you Lord for letting them come to us once again.
Maybe we'll take better care of them this time.
These beautiful creatures called, butterflies.

Sunday, April 6, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails - given by one Shepherd. Ecclesiastes 12:11(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD :
22 The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and He adds no trouble to it. - Proverbs 10:22(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We have the help of the One who showed us His power in the resurrection, and who will demonstrate His power again when He raises believing loved ones of all generations to eternal life. - Dave Branon - THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER Courtesy, friendship and kindness are expressions of love. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Christians stand strong when they stand together. - From Our Daily Bread - I wish for you dreams so big that you have to grow into them. - From I Wish For You -
NOTES Today has been cloudy with light rain much of the day. High temperature was 54 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service as usual with choruses, hymns, spiritual songs and testimonies. Angela, who plays the keyboard, played a special number titled "The Old Rugged Cross" which was a blessing to hear. Pastor JT preached an inspiring sermon titled "Transformed through The Cross. Knowing Your Choices!" I had lunch at home and took my Sunday afternoon nap with Beau and Smokey with Emmy joining us later. I checked the food for the outside animals at around 6:30 p.m. I put the garbage on the street around 7:30 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. They have been inside today due to the rain. Five of them are with me at present, Emmy just came in and is eating a snack of dry food on the desk, Leo is on the sofa, Lucy is lying in the floor, Rascal is in the recliner and Tony is on the sofa. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week. Everett.

LEST WE FORGET:
- From the book "The Greatest Generation Speaks." - Martha Tiller of Richmond, Virginia, grew up in a hurry when war broke out;
I was a sophomore in college when Pearl Harbor was attacked, so my life went from carefree - praying not to die before the next fraternity dance - to praying for all the boys I knew to come home safely. My husband and his brother were killed within six months of each other, and my favorite co-cheerleader died at Guadalcanal.
Martha was attending Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans when she met George Tompkins, a student at Tulane. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. They had one son, George Junior, before her husband was killed in action.
I was remarried about eight years after he was killed. I was engaged a couple of times and backed off. I was crazy about my husband. . . It takes a long time. We had one son. . . and he is a pilot just like his father. Genes are so powerful. His father saw him just one time, and then went overseas. And then he was killed when (the child) was six months old. My son is a pilot just like he was , and he loves fast cars like he did, and he even has the same exact signature.

Resurrection JoyWith a bright, flash of lightning, and the explosion of thunder, the Son of God now dead. Fallen hopes and uncertain dreams, their joy now lost instead
As they took His body down from the cross, and washed His blood away. They placed Him in a borrowed tomb, to prepare for the Sabbath day.
Their broken hearts now in dismay, and wondering what should now be done. Would they return to what they did before, they met God’s Holy Son?
Some of them hid away in fear and others in disbelief. Trying to decide what they should do, as now their hearts felt grief.
They went to prepare His body, as the custom was for the dead. Taking their spices and what was needed, but they forgot what the Lord had said.
The women all went down to the tomb, the stone was rolled away. An angel was seated on the stone and they were amazed at what they heard him say.
Why do you seek the living, here among the dead? He is not here He is risen, don’t you remember what He had said?
They ran and told His disciples, the things they heard the angel say. Two of them took off for the tomb, running all the way. However, the body of Jesus was not there, just the wrappings that He had worn. All of them were neatly folded and not one of them was torn.
Mary stayed there at the tomb weeping and continued looking in, this was the one who was delivered from bondage, and forgiven of all her sin.
Then someone behind her startled her, it was Jesus her Master and King. She finally realized that it was the Lord, and her soul began to sing.
Tell My friends that I have risen, and shortly they will see. Then He came and showed Himself to all of them, and their doubt began to flee.
They knew that He would always be with them, to supply what they would need. For they finally realized that the Lord had risen, the Lord has risen indeed.

1 The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. - Proverbs 28:1(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. - 1 Peter 4:8-9(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation. - D. Elton Trueblood -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Don't fret over what you'd do with your life if you lived it over again; get busy with what you have left. - From Reminisce Magazine -
May your love of life be the enchantment that turns insignificant things into joys. - From I Wish For You -
The storms of life remind us to take shelter in the loving arms of our Savior. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 63 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to Country Mart store for a few items and then to the post office. I started my nap this afternoon with Beau and later Friendly joined us. The light on my dash board showed that I had a low tire so at around 4:30 p.m. I drove to a place to put air in my tires. Do you know that there is not any free air any more unless you drive into a garage and have them do it? I don't like to drive into a garage for just air so I paid a dollar and put air in the tire myself. In the good old days when you had your car filled with gas, they would fill your car with gas, check your oil, clean your windshield and check your tires if you ask them to. That was all a part of the service and that is why they were called service stations. Now everything is do it yourself. After I got air, I went by Braum's and brought home my evening meal. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the animals. At 7:00 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk program from 1967. Thanks for your emails and thank you for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Leo is on the back of the sofa, Rascal is in the recliner chair and Smokey just came in to check on me and is sitting in the floor looking at me. I reached down and rubbed his head. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Everett.

Tom Brokaw writes about his book "The Greatest Generation Speaks:"
"Members of the World War 2 generation are, characteristically, grateful for the attention and modest about their own lives. Their children and grandchildren are eager to share the lessons and insights they heard about the lives of a generation now passing on too swiftly. I wanted to write a book about America, and in this book, America was writing back. It seems that everyone in that generation has something worthwhile to contribute. If we are to heed the past to prepare for the future, we should listen to these quiet voices of a generation that speaks to us of duty and honor, sacrifice and accomplishment."

Everett's note:
I don't need any praise for what I did but I did appreciate it when someone said "thank you" to me and most of you have already done that so no more "thank you's." I simply did what thousands of others have done for the past 239 years since we have been a country. I didn't do anything outstanding except to serve to the best of my ability. The people that take care of things at home while others go to war deserve a lot of credit also.

A Song Of Praise Early in the morning,before the sun is ablaze
give a shout of pure joy
a song of heartfelt praise.
Make a sweet melody,
and show your gratitude
sing out your praises
with a joyful attitude.
Early in the morning,
before the sun begins to rise
remember His lovingkindness
under the darkened skies.
Clap your hands together,
lift your arms up in praise
give your day to the Lord
and thank Him for His ways.
While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is dark
before there is a new dawn.
Show your thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
lift up your heartsong
and praise Him for His love.
When your day is finally over,
and the sun dims its blazing light
thank God for His faithfulness
all through the starry night!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Psalm 92:1-2
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
and to sing praises to Your name, O Most
High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the
morning, and Your faithfulness every night."
