GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails - given by one Shepherd. Ecclesiastes 12:11(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD :

22 The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and He adds no trouble to it. - Proverbs 10:22(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

We have the help of the One who showed us His power in the resurrection, and who will demonstrate His power again when He raises believing loved ones of all generations to eternal life. - Dave Branon - THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER Courtesy, friendship and kindness are expressions of love. - From Reminisce Magazine -

Christians stand strong when they stand together. - From Our Daily Bread - I wish for you dreams so big that you have to grow into them. - From I Wish For You -

NOTES Today has been cloudy with light rain much of the day. High temperature was 54 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service as usual with choruses, hymns, spiritual songs and testimonies. Angela, who plays the keyboard, played a special number titled "The Old Rugged Cross" which was a blessing to hear. Pastor JT preached an inspiring sermon titled "Transformed through The Cross. Knowing Your Choices!" I had lunch at home and took my Sunday afternoon nap with Beau and Smokey with Emmy joining us later. I checked the food for the outside animals at around 6:30 p.m. I put the garbage on the street around 7:30 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.

The cats are fine. They have been inside today due to the rain. Five of them are with me at present, Emmy just came in and is eating a snack of dry food on the desk, Leo is on the sofa, Lucy is lying in the floor, Rascal is in the recliner and Tony is on the sofa. I have seen all of them this evening.

Have a nice Monday to start the week. Everett.

Keep Thinking The Good Thoughts.

LEST WE FORGET:

- From the book "The Greatest Generation Speaks." - Martha Tiller of Richmond, Virginia, grew up in a hurry when war broke out;

I was a sophomore in college when Pearl Harbor was attacked, so my life went from carefree - praying not to die before the next fraternity dance - to praying for all the boys I knew to come home safely. My husband and his brother were killed within six months of each other, and my favorite co-cheerleader died at Guadalcanal.

Martha was attending Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans when she met George Tompkins, a student at Tulane. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. They had one son, George Junior, before her husband was killed in action.

I was remarried about eight years after he was killed. I was engaged a couple of times and backed off. I was crazy about my husband. . . It takes a long time. We had one son. . . and he is a pilot just like his father. Genes are so powerful. His father saw him just one time, and then went overseas. And then he was killed when (the child) was six months old. My son is a pilot just like he was , and he loves fast cars like he did, and he even has the same exact signature.
