Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” - Matthew 7:24-27(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. - 1 Corinthians 15:41-44(New International Version).

Only Jesus turns darkness to light, despair to joy, and oppression to peace - Debbie Goodwin -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
Be at war with your vices, at peace with you neighbors, and let every new month find you a better person. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -
Worry gives a small thing a big shadow. - Swedish Proverb -
NOTES
I had lunch at noon time with Charley. I went by the post office to pick up my mail. I took a nap in early afternoon. Itty Bitty and Tony were in bed with me. Itty Bitty was snuggling me when I went to sleep but when I woke up she had gone but Tony was still on the bed. I put treats outside for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since last night's Good Things I have had e-mails from four friends who enjoy every edition of the Good Things so I will keep them coming for a while. The four friends that I heard from were Burlene, Michelle, Alice and Debra. Thanks for your e-mails. Here is a paragraph from Debra's letter:
Don't think Everett, that the Good Things go unread by the many you send out to, they are appreciated, read and taken to heart by the many who have that in their inbox - the time gets away from us all to respond to the sender but smile yourself when you have completed them each evening and hit that send button - you have touched the lives of many and God is smiling as well, with knowing He has a Good and Faithful Servant sharing His word with so many others. As we remember John 3:16.
The cats are fine except Friendly. Friendly didn't come home today. She didn't eat yesterday so I was going to take her to the vet this morning. I looked everywhere in our yard and under our storage house but she was not here. I just pray that she comes home okay or at least so I can take her to the vet. Needless to say I am feeling rather sad tonight. I can't go looking for my cats when they are gone like I used to when Flonnie was with me. Rascal has been here with me part of the time this evening but just left out but he will be back soon.
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.

Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. - 1 John 5:11-12(New International Version) -
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me." - John 15:26(New International Version) -,br />

Those who complain about the way the ball bounces are often the ones who dropped it. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It! -
NOTES
Today has been a partly cloudy day and warm. I attended Worship Services this morning. This morning we had "Hanging of The Green". It was a very inspirational and uplifting service. I had lunch at home. I went outside with the cats before my afternoon nap. Tony napped with me this afternoon. I put out treats for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since last night's Good Things I have heard from Michelle. I always appreciate your e-mails. I have just been thinking, it may be time to let the Good Things rest for a while. I will pray and think about it.
I have seen all of the cats this evening. Friendly is not eating so I may have to take her to the vet tomorrow. When one of my cats feels bad I feel bad also.
Have a nice Monday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.

Think of three things: whence you came, where you are going, and to whom you must account. - From Proverbs for Daily Living -
NOTES
Today has been a warm cloudy day with a high temperature of 78 degrees and a low temperature this morning of 61 degrees. My housecleaning lady came at 11:15 a.m. and cleaned my house while I had lunch with Charley and Bill. While we were eating our great niece, Leslie Grinell, came in and visited with us for a few minutes. She is a CPA and lives and works in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After lunch I went by the post office and then to Memory Gardens cemetery. I came home and sat out with the cats for a little while before I took my nap. I took a nap with Tony this afternoon. I put treats outside for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since last night's Good Things, I have heard from Burlene, Gina (my cousin-in-law), Audie (my cousin), Michelle, Ruby (my niece-in-law), Dianne and Alice. I am always happy to receive your e-mails.
The cats are fine. I have seen all of them this evening. Leo just came by for a bite of dry food.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday!
I will see you next time, In Christian Love, Everett.

Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
31 For no one is cast off by the Lord forever.
32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.
33 For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone. - Lamentations 3:31-33(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. - Psalm 19:7-8(New International Version).

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
God made you an original, not a copy. - From Don't Wait for Your Ship to Come In. . . Swim Out to Meet It.
NOTES
Excuse this messed up Good Things tonight. I downloaded a new program last night and I am not acquainted with it yet and it is doing some things that I am not familiar with. I saw Charley and Bill at noon time. I went to the post office and then came home. I sat outside with Smokey and Itty Bitty before I took my nap. Tony napped with me this afternoon. At around 4:00 p.m. I went to Country Mart Market and a Dollar General Store for a few items. I put treats outside for the cats at 5:00 p.m. I washed a load of laundry this evening. I will dry them in the morning. Since the last Good Things I have heard from Michelle, Gail, Michele, and Alice. I always appreciate the nice e-mails.
I would like everyone to know that it is never my intention to offend anyone with the Good Things. If I ever write or include anything in the Good Things that is offensive to you in any way, please let me know and I will try my best to make things right.
The cats are fine. Rascal is in the recliner. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
