Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKGOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” - Matthew 7:24-27(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. - 1 Corinthians 15:41-44(New International Version).

NOTES
I had lunch at noon time with Charley. I went by the post office to pick up my mail. I took a nap in early afternoon. Itty Bitty and Tony were in bed with me. Itty Bitty was snuggling me when I went to sleep but when I woke up she had gone but Tony was still on the bed. I put treats outside for the cats at 4:30 p.m. Since last night's Good Things I have had e-mails from four friends who enjoy every edition of the Good Things so I will keep them coming for a while. The four friends that I heard from were Burlene, Michelle, Alice and Debra. Thanks for your e-mails. Here is a paragraph from Debra's letter:
Don't think Everett, that the Good Things go unread by the many you send out to, they are appreciated, read and taken to heart by the many who have that in their inbox - the time gets away from us all to respond to the sender but smile yourself when you have completed them each evening and hit that send button - you have touched the lives of many and God is smiling as well, with knowing He has a Good and Faithful Servant sharing His word with so many others. As we remember John 3:16.
The cats are fine except Friendly. Friendly didn't come home today. She didn't eat yesterday so I was going to take her to the vet this morning. I looked everywhere in our yard and under our storage house but she was not here. I just pray that she comes home okay or at least so I can take her to the vet. Needless to say I am feeling rather sad tonight. I can't go looking for my cats when they are gone like I used to when Flonnie was with me. Rascal has been here with me part of the time this evening but just left out but he will be back soon.
I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
