November Day

November day
November day,
Cold and gray
Did you think
You could take my joy away?
Your dreary rain
Your dull, cloudy skies,
Could not touch
What I felt inside.
Did you think I'd care
If the air was chill
Or the dampness lingered
As it always will?
Your November presence
Could not come through
To quench the thrill
Of friendship true.
The day was warm and
Bright and fine,
For I spent it with
A friend of mine!
