Make Us Great Again

Make Us Great Again

When God created the human race

He formed man and then his mate

It was in His image and likeness

This He deemed good and great

The fall came when they departed

From guidelines He had set

A gulf existed that separated

Him from those, He had beget

He paved the way through the ages

To reconcile a fallen race

Repent and submitting to His will

This alone, - - would sin erase

This could make us great again

If we would only comply

Abort "our way", and trust in His

As Proverbs 3:5,6 - does imply

We find chronicled in God’s Word

Many events, that testify

Of those who were restored

When His offer, they would apply

Peter fell from his position

Denying Jesus that awful night

Through bitter tears he was restored

A great Apostle, that became contrite

Paul, on the Damascus road

His life was corrupt and vile

After yielding to the Master's call

He ministered to, Jew and Gentile

The Samaritan woman at the well

Who had a sordid past

After her encounter with the Master

A great message, - she forecast

The formula for "being great again"

For an individual or a nation

Can be found in 2nd. Chronicles 7:14

It can deliver us, - from damnation

About the Poet
I live in N.C., and have been writing poetry for several years. Writing is the greatest "outlet" I have ever experienced to release my inner emotions, and express my stance on spiritual issues. Most compositions, are derived from observing "down-to-earth" events that occur around us. Many offer a personal "mini-story" with a metaphor of spiritual implications that portray God as the ultimate solution to life's problems. My goal is that any and all compositions will present Christ and His sacrifice at Calvary as the solution to problems encountered along our journey.
