He
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

He

He came into a hostile world
Through the portals of a womb
He ascended from a hostile world
After His departure from a tomb

He spent the intervening years
Between these two extremes
To reconcile mankind to God
This was His intended theme

He knew a sojourn along the way
That tasted the plight of mortal man
With hunger and ridicule, He identified
As He fulfilled, His Father's plan

He knew temptation, as you and I
But responded with, "it is written"
Then the devil did depart
Once again, he was smitten

He was no stranger to rejection
"Who is this", the Pharisees cried
They knew not, that before them stood
The One that was, indeed the Bride

He tasted pain, that was unsurpassed
On the cross, at Calvary's hill
"No greater love," was ever known
As He, fulfilled His Father's will

He shall return one glorious day
In like manner, as He did depart
He will gather for all eternity
All who have received Him in their heart

About the Poet
I live in N.C., and have been writing poetry for several years. Writing is the greatest "outlet" I have ever experienced to release my inner emotions, and express my stance on spiritual issues. Most compositions, are derived from observing "down-to-earth" events that occur around us. Many offer a personal "mini-story" with a metaphor of spiritual implications that portray God as the ultimate solution to life's problems. My goal is that any and all compositions will present Christ and His sacrifice at Calvary as the solution to problems encountered along our journey.
