Prepare
"A voice yelling in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord,
make straight His roads." Matthew 3:3

Father,

Through grace,
Open my soul's roads --
The road of my thoughts,
The road of my feeling,
The road of my doings.

Through grace,
Clear these roads of "I,"
For me to  journey with the Staff
From the root of Jesse -- Jesus.
(Isaiah 11:1)

Through grace,
I open my soul's roads and
I choose to do Jesus, not "I," and
With courage
Stand up for Your Will, Father.

Through grace,
I open my soul's roads to Jesus as
I learn the meaning of You, Father, and
Come before You
With humility, trust and love.

Through grace,
I open my soul's roads to Jesus as
I kneel with wonder and awe
Before the glory and majesty of You, Father.

Father,

Life the hood of "I,"
The cowl covering my sight,
So that all my soul's roads
Will see, truly see, with love
My neighbor and my enemy,
As You asked.
