The heart-beat
Of hope.

Makes rich and noble
The house of love;
The well of drink
In times of trouble.

Steps on despair's scorpion
Whose sting leads to death --
By oneself.

Faith?

Paves the Jesus-Journey
With ease and sureness;

Faith?

The feast
Of joy and peace.

Faith?

The labor
Of birthing Jesus
To the world;

Faith?

Sets free the soul
From slavery's shanty and
Prison's cell.

Father,

One thing I ask;
One thing I seek:
That my thoughts, heart and will
Heat with trust  and conviction
In Your Word, Father,
Made plain by the Risen Jesus, and
Flamed by Tongues of the Spirit, Holy.
