Where I'm at Right Now

Where I'm at Right Now

When God doesn't do what I think He should,

And I'm left feeling mis-understood,

As well as hopeless, failed, and depressed,

And tired from every trial, and test,

I cry out to Jesus, "Oh Lord, how long?"

Before I'm delivered from all of this wrong,

Before I'm drowned in the self-pity I feel,

"How long 'til You Come, to comfort and heal"

But deep in my heart, I imagine His Voice,

Saying "trust me or not, it's really your choice"

"When you trust, I will lead you on paths of My Peace,"

"So let every thought of dis-couragment cease!"

And despite all the problems that I've often feared,

In light of real faith in my Savior, I'm cheered!

And though Christ  may not do what I think He should,

He will, at the end, work all this for good!

About the Poet
I am 64, a born-again Christian, and didn't write until 1974. My mother inspired me to write poetry, from an early age since she developed a deep love for poetry in my life. However it took years before I tried to write. My favorite subject to write about is my Savior, Jesus Christ, and religious subjects. I reside in Cleveland, Ohio.
