WORD CHIMES

Words!  Written on chimes

Blown through time and space

On wings of wind.

Can you hear the words?

They tell a story, paint a picture

And give new meaning to life.

They evoke messages of joy and sadness,

Inflict laughter and tears,

Command attention

And promise hope for tomorrow.

Listen to the words

As they sing through the pines.

Hear their shouts reverberate

Against rocky shores.

Contemplate their silence

On a snowy, winter night.

Hear the words chime as sunlight

Radiates on golden fields of grain

Or rain sparkles in puddles

On a barren land.

Catch words of comfort, support and help

As time passes and experiences of

Pain, grief, anger and anxiety

Travel through life.

Hold tight to the words of love.

They express the laughter of a child,

A rainbow after the storm

And the wonder of it all.

Words of love can not be explained

But they slip into the heart

And fill that empty space

With warmth, delight and memories.

Words!  Written on chimes

Blow through time and space

On wings of wind.

About the Poet
I still have 4 grandsons and love to write. Although it hasn't been easy (nothing worth while ever is), on June 1 Floyd and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary.
