Christmas

The cattle low in the stable
As Mary delivers her son
And places him in a manger,
His work yet to be done.

Angels sing in the shepherds' field:
"A baby boy is born.
Go see this babe in the manger
Come to earth this Christmas morn."

The Shepherds go to Bethlehem
And vow, as the angels sing,
To spread the word throughout the land:
"A child is born -- 'tis Christ the King."

The sky is filled with stars this night -
One brighter than the rest.
It guides the way for three wise men
To see the babe nestled at Mary's breast.

The wise men bring their gifts and kneel
To worship his holy name.
This babe with such a humble start
Will save the world from sin and pain.

About the Poet
I still have 4 grandsons and love to write. Although it hasn't been easy (nothing worth while ever is), on June 1 Floyd and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary.
