Olive Branch

Olive Branch

Layers and Layers
I burrow through
Hoping to reach you
But as each stroke of brush
Comes down on your face
It seems another part of you
Is being locked away
Forever from me
Wider and wider
The gulf becomes
Oh! I wave the Olive
I pray that you accept
That we bridge this gulf
