Late Summer Night Songs

Late Summer Night Songs

The cicada loudly sings his complaining song,
echoing it out into the universe
all evening long...
until the crickets stop and all
is still, in restful peace.
Soon, all will be quiet and all
activities will simply cease.
The soft, evening breeze flows
gently through the trees.

Autumn is very soon approaching
to be near.
Soon, summer will be gone and autumn
will be here.
Cicada complains loudly with
his voice rising;
Incessant and loud, his voice's
volume is surprising.

The ethereal, pastel shades of blue and soft pink
fade softly into the night sky;
melting away into the dark, periwinkle, purple
blues of the summer night.
A watercolor mix of multicolor hues,
blending away into such a, breathtaking, lovely view.

The night clothes the endless sky with a blanket
of deepest, royal blue, mysterious
in it's beauty and peace.
All the universe seems to be sighing,
as she sinks softly into a deep, sleep.

Soon, the colored, fall trees will become
dormant and bare.
Bright, brilliantly colored trees will spread
fall beauty everywhere!
Sparkling, cold snow will cover the earth
with magical wonder.
A sleeping earth awaiting in sleep, springtimes
rebirth to ponder.
