It's Your Grace.

It's Your Grace

It's not that I have merited Your love, dear Lord,
But that you loved me when I was lost and vile.
It's Your grace that made me bow to you and adore.
When I was so lost, You were there, all the while.

It's not my efforts that give me a place with You.
All of my best tries to be good will not get me there.
You opened heaven's gate and made me brand new.
By Your holy sacrifice, You lifted me from the snare.

It's only by Your grace and mercy that I am saved.
By Your sacred blood, I can enter in to the Holy Place.
You arose on the third day in victory from the grave.
One day soon, I will behold Your lovely, sacred face.

You were lifted up to draw all humanity to Your heart.
Draw me into Your holiness and hold me in Your peace.
Wherever my self efforts stop, it is there that You start.
All I want is to adore you and be with you without cease.

About the Poet
I am a visual artist who also discovered a love for writing poetry a few years ago when i was snowed in. I love painting with a brush and also with words.I write poetry, children's stories, some short stories. I love drawing and painting, especially portraits and religious art.Jesus is my first love. That's reflected in my work.
