Always There

Friends seem to come and go,
but you always seem to be there
when I am desperate for an ear,
to listen to my woes and
even for my cheer

As a friend you have helped me
through my loss, cradled my soul,
shared my grief, my sorrow,
and wept with me
my most precious friend

I want you to know,
I love you so, dear heart
Friends we shall always be,
smile for me, as you always do,
brighten my day with yours
