Good Things
Saturday, January 3. 2015GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
24 He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. - 1 Peter 2:24(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
25 In the beginning you (Lord) laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. 27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end. - Psalm 102:25-27(New International Version)

NOTES
Today has been a cloudy day with a high temperature of 44 degrees. I had lunch at Taco Bobs with my brother, Charley, his son, Paul, and Paul's two young granddaughters. Brianna was our waitress today. I went to the post office. I came home, took an afternoon nap with about three cats (I think). At 4:15 p.m. I made a trip to a Dollar General Store for some washing detergent, coffee filters and a bottle of Gatorade. I gave the cats their treats inside tonight. I have been doing that a lot lately due to the bad and cold weather. I had several notes from people who said they were happy to see the Good Things. I will try to do them more often as time goes along. Thanks for your notes and thanks to everyone for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Emmy is on a desk near me eating some dry food. Rascal is in the recliner chair. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a Wonderful Sunday,
Everett.

Good Things
Thursday, January 1, 2015GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. - Hebrews 13: 20-21(New International Version).

16 Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil. - Proverbs 15:16(New International Version).

NOTES
Happy New Year everyone. I am back for now but I won't promise to be here every day. I just thought I needed to get back because I had so many notes saying they missed the Good Things. My eyes are not as good as they used to be and my back hurts occasionally but I will try to hang in here for a while longer. Maybe that is why the Lord is letting me stay here rather than going to join my dear wife and other relatives and friends. I still eat at Taco Bob's every day with my brother and others from time to time. Bob was closed today. The nice lady still gives my house an excellent cleaning every Wednesday and visits with me for a little while. My daughter, Treva, is a caregiver and visits with senior adults several times a week. My daughter, Treva, and my son, Ron, were with me for a couple of days at Christmas. I want to live at home as long as I live to take care of my cats. Today has been cold with rain and I have been home all day with my cats. Tomorrow I will get out to Bob's again and maybe stop by a store.
The cats are fine. Emmy is on the sofa and Rascal is in the recliner chair. The others are in other bedrooms. Some of the cats like to sleep on my bed. I guess it smells like me. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Friday,
Everett

Happy New Year Everyone
If you are reading this you are wished a very blessed and happy new year. A great way to start the new year is to take time to thank God for His goodness and mercy in the past year. If things have not gone well, to thank God for keeping you faithful and trusting. God will provide. Pray for a spiritual awakening in your nation. A revival of righteousness and faithfulness in your church. A personal commitment to serve God each and every day as you seek His will and reach out to others. God bless you.
