Good Things
Sunday, June 29, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
2 Your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor, you who practice deceit. - Psalm 52:2(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
10 Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. - Romans 13:10(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Remember, we can be a witness of God's grace with our conduct. - Randy Kilgore -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Character is what your are, reputation is what people think you are. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Our greatest hope here below is help from God above. - From Our Daily Bread -
There's no kindness more appreciated than just being there when needed. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 95 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had the usual good service with choruses, hymns and spiritual songs. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Transformational Living: From Fear to Freedom." Pastor JT makes a good presentation of his sermons on the big screen. I had lunch at home. I took my afternoon nap with Smokey and Tony. I put treats out for the cats at around 6:10 p.m. and sat with them for a while. At around 7:15 p.m. I put the garbage out on the street for pick up in the morning.
Last night I didn't feel like I should do the Good Things. My back was hurting a little and I think that I needed the rest. Lets start a new procedure on the Good Things. I will send out the Good Things when I feel up to it but some nights I might want to leave them off. I will do that from now on. If I get on the computer I will tell you "No Good Things." If I don't get on the computer I wont tell you but don't worry. I will be back when I can. When I decide that the Lord wants me to give them up, I will let you know.
My cats are fine. None are with me at present but Tony just left out. I have seen all of them this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start a new week. Everett

Good Things
Friday, June 27, 2014:GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
(The Apostle Paul wrote) 1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." - Romans 12:1(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands. - Deuteronomy 7:9(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
As followers of Christ, being good neighbors - showing love to others - should come naturally to us. - Marvin Williams -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Compassion is the capacity to put Christ's love into action. - From Our Daily Bread -
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Our words and our deeds should say the same thing. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been a partly cloudy day with a high temperature of 88 degrees . I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I took my nap this afternoon with Smokey and Tony. I put food and treats outside for the cats at around 6:10 p.m. and sat with them for a few minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails. I will keep on keeping on as long as I feel like it.
The cats are fine. Rascal and Tony are lying on a desk near me and Smokey is lying near my feet. Friendly just came in and got on the desk so it is getting a little crowded. Smokey got up near the computer a little while ago to see what I am doing. They always want to know what is going on. When I go out in the backyard I know that my cats will soon follow in order to know what is going on. They really do look after a person if you love them sincerely and they can tell when a person really loves them. I have seen all of my cats this evening.
Have a nice Saturday.Everett

Thursday, June 26, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. - Proverbs 29:25(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
(The Lord Said) 7 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. 8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." - Jeremiah 17:7-8(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
The day is coming when Jesus will return in glory to rule what is rightfully His. - C. P. Hia -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
For mending someone's broken heart, the best glue is compassion. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Living without kindness is like driving a car without oil. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Returning good for good is human; returning good for evil is divine. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a partly cloudy day with a high temperature of 87 degrees. I had lunch today with Charley and Bill. Michelle was our waitress today. I went to the post office and then came home. I took a nap with Tony but Itty Bitty gave me some good loving before she left the bed and I went to sleep. I put food and treats outside for the cats at around 6:05 p.m. and sat with them for several minutes. Thanks for those emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. I don't seem to have time or feel like answering the emails but I do appreciate them. The notes that I write are for everyone but I know that most people are like me and don't feel like or have time to write notes but thanks to the ones that do write.
The cats are fine. Leo is on the desk near me and Rascal is lying in the floor. I have seen all the kitties this evening. I did not see Lucy's twin today so maybe it went back home. I hope it is ok wherever it is.
Have a nice Friday. Everett

Good Things
Wednesday, June 25, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
30 Then I (wisdom) was the craftsman at His (the Lord's) side, I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in His presence, 31 rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in mankind. - Proverbs 8:30-31(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. - Romans 3:21-24(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
If you really want the best, choose Christ. - Morris Weigelt -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
A happy person is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night. - From Reminisce Magazine -
It's not enough to acknowledge another's achievement. Celebrate it! - From Reminisce Magazine -
Love is the magnet that that draws believers together and attracts unbelievers to Christ. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES :
Today has been a partly cloudy day with a high temperature of 87 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then to Walgreen's to pick up the prescription that I ordered yesterday. I took a nap this afternoon with Tony. At around 6:05 p.m. I put treats out for the cats and sat with them several minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Tony is with me now lying on a desk near me. Rascal has been here a few minutes ago. I have seen all of them this evening. Lucy has a twin. I saw a cat across the street the other evening and I called "Come on Lucy!" But it wasn't Lucy. It could almost be her twin but has a black spot in the midst of some white. It is a beautiful cat and I don't know who it belongs to. The house directly across the street from me is vacant. That is where Tony came from. It comes out of the yard next to the house directly across the street. A single lady lives there and very seldom comes out of her house. She works sometimes at night. I don't know who the cat belongs to but it is not friendly as yet. Old Everett has been putting out some dry food in front of the patio door and it slips up and eats. Eventually it will be friends with me I think.
Have a nice Thursday. Everett

Tuesday, June 24, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
(Jesus said to Nicodemus) 18 "Whoever believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." - John 3:18(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. - Ephesians 5:1-2(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Most often, we would do better not to say all we think or know (or think we know), but instead seek to use words that promote calm and peace. You never know who may be listening. - Bill Crowder -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Like the roots of a tree, plant your trust deep in the Lord. - From Prayers and Blessings -
True courage is not the absence of fear - but the willingness to proceed in spite of it. - From Reflecting God -
What God gave to us, He wants us to share. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a partly cloudy day with a high temperature of 90 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office and then to Walgreen's to order a prescription. I took my nap with Tony. I put food and treats outside for the cats around 6:00 p.m. and sat with them for over 30 minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.
I have seen all of my cats this evening except Smokey. I haven't seen him since around 12:30 p.m. He started to take a nap with me and then left out. I hope he is okay. Beau is eating today. I am always concerned when one of my cats is out of pocket.
I just checked and Smokey is lying in the floor in the kitchen. I don't know where he has been. He won't tell me.
Have a nice Wednesday. Everett
