GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 42 "And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” - Matthew 10:42(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(The Apostle Paul wrote) 11 "And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News (Gospel). 12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return." - 2 Timothy 1:11-12(New Living Translation).

NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with high temperatures in the upper eighties. I had lunch by myself as Charley had something else to do at that time. I went by the post office and then to Walgreens to leave prescriptions to be filled. I took a nap and later in the afternoon I went to Country Mart. I sat out with the cats and read this evening. I came in at 8:15 p.m. as the cats were already coming inside. The picture tonight is Smokey on the ground and Beau in the chair. If you would like to unsubscribe from the Good Things let me know.
The cats are fine. Rascal has been in and out several times. During the day Rascal often goes to a neighbors large storage building and sleeps under it. Other cats do the same thing. Without exception as soon as Rascal comes in late in the afternoon he will look for me until he finds me. This afternoon I was lying down when he came in. He came to my bedroom and had to lie real close to my face and snuggle for a few minutes.
At 10:10 P.M. skies are fair with a temperature of 79 degrees. I will see you next time.

but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.

NOTES
Today has been mostly cloudy with high temperatures around 90 degrees. The cooler weather was really appreciated. Charley and I had just ordered our lunch today when a couple of ladies walked in and joined us. Their names were Deletta Washburn and Janice Clagg. They are good friends from my church. They came in to help celebrate my birthday which was yesterday. We had a wonderful time visiting and they paid for my lunch. I went by the post office and then to the polling place to vote. I took my nap this afternoon. It was nice outside this evening with a cool breeze blowing from the north direction so I sat out from about 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. I enjoyed sitting out with the cats and reading until it became too dark to read. The cats enjoyed my presence outside with them. Isn't that a sweet picture tonight of Itty Bitty? She is really taking it easy.
The cats are fine, they are scattered around here and there. None of them are in the den with me but Rascal was here just a few minutes ago.
At 10:25 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 80 degrees. I will see you next time.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
3 But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
4 I cried out to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy mountain.
- Psalm 3:3-4(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. - Romans 8:12-13(New Living Translation).

Give me grace, good Lord, to suffer adversity patiently.

A big mystery of life is what happens to all the time we save.

NOTES
Today has been mostly sunny with high temperatures around 100 degrees. I had lunch with Bill and Charley. I came by the post office. I took a nap without a cat. Later in the afternoon I went to Walmart and came back by Walgreens to pick up a prescription. Today is my birthday. My kids couldn't make it for my birthday but they are coming to visit on Labor Day weekend and celebrate my birthday at that time. I have been on this earth for 85 years. I have seen many changes in my 85 years. There has been so much progress in making our lives easier to live. However, as far as morals go, our country is at the lowest point now that I have ever seen. God is still on the Throne and He will be close to you if you will just turn loose of your sinful living and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Then He promised that you would live for all eternity. I am waiting to go see my Jesus and my Flonnie and be with them forever and ever. The picture tonight was taken from my front yard looking to the back yard. You can see some crepe myrtles blooming and if you will look closely you can see a cat in the back yard.
The cats are fine. None are in the den with me but they are all around somewhere.
At 10:05 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 85 degrees. I will see you next time.

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
16 "But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. 17 Don’t scheme against each other. Stop your love of telling lies that you swear are the truth. I hate all these things," says the Lord. - Zechariah 8:16-17(New Living Translation).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
(God said)
12 "I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness,
and you will harvest a crop of love.
Plow up the hard ground of your hearts,
for now is the time to seek the Lord,
that he may come
and shower righteousness upon you.’"
- Hosea 10:12(New Living Translation).
A QUOTE
There is nothing in the world so important that I can't forgive another person. The freedom and liberty that forgiveness brings is indescribable, and I do all I can to liberate others as well. - Paul J. Meyer -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
When you get to feeling powerful, try ordering a cat around.
- From Reminisce Magazine -
Wise men think without talking; fools talk without thinking.

NOTES
Today has been mostly sunny with clouds now and then. High temperatures were in the upper nineties. I attended
Sunday School and Worship Service this morning. Pastor J. T. started a series of sermons this morning titled "Getting a Hold of God." The title of today's message was "Is It Time to Pray?" with 2nd Chronicles, Chapters 6 and 7 as the Scripture reference. At the close of the Sermon when the invitation to pray was given the Altars were lined with at least 20 or more people including me. I had lunch at home. I rested this afternoon with a nap. I attended church tonight. Tonight was fellowship night where we share a meal together and visit. I put out food and water this evening for the cats. The cat picture tonight is Lucy, the stray that waited 10 months for me to come home. She makes her self at home now but never sleeps in the house.
The cats are fine. Rascal was just here and went out the front door.
At 10:50 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 88 degrees. I will see you next time.

- 2 Corinthians 5:17(New International Version).
GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. - Colossians 2:13-14(New Living Translation).

NOTES
We have had a lot of clouds today along with some sunshine. We had some nice cooling rain showers between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. this evening. High temperatures before the rains came was around 100 degrees. Today was a routine day for me. Lunch with Charley and then to the post office. A nap this afternoon with Beau. I couldn't put out food for the outside cats until around 8:00 p.m. due to the rain. The picture tonight is Beau and Smokey lying on the lawn.
The cats are fine. Friendly just came by for a bite of food, Little Girl on the sofa, Rascal lying on a shelf on the back porch and I just saw Smokey go into the kitchen.
At 10:05 p.m. skies are now fair with a temperature of 81 degrees. Have a Wonderful, Worshipful, Restful Sunday. I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett.
