GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

16 But the LORD Almighty will be exalted by his justice,
and the holy God will show himself holy by his righteousness.
- Isaiah 5:16(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

4 Lazy people want much but get little,
but those who work hard will prosper.
- Proverbs 13:4(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

God is a true friend.

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER

May your life be like a snowflake - let it leave a spot but not a stain.
- From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES

Today has been a sunny day with high temperatures around 80 degrees.  June and I had lunch with Charley at Taco Bob's.  Most every day we see someone we know.  June and I went by the recycling center to leave newspapers and plastic bottles.  We went by the post office and then to Walgreens to pick up a prescription.  I took a nap while June went to a Dollar General Store.  My cat, Rascal, snuggled with me for a little while taking my nap.  June and I went to Arby's and picked up sandwiches for supper this evening.  We sat out with the cats this evening.  Today I heard from Alice, Debra, Geneva, Laura(wants to keep getting Good Things) and Mary Jo(going on vacation for a week).  Alice also sent another good joke which I will leave at the end of the Good Things.  If, at any time, anyone would like to be dropped from the Good Things, just let me know and I will understand.

All eight of my cats are fine, plus the stray that has adopted us.  Little Girl is on the couch, Leo has found a small container of rags to sleep in.  He just barely fits in the container but that's the way cats are, when they find something new they like to try it out.

At 10:30 p.m. skies are fair with a temperature of 63 degrees.

In Christian Love, Everett.

Here's the joke:

Out Of This World Bait

My daughter-in-law Alma and grandson Eddy were digging for fishing bait in my garden. Uncovering a many-legged creature, Eddy proudly dangled it before his mother.

"No, honey, he won't do for bait," his mother said. "He's not an earthworm."

"He's not?" Eddy asked, his eyes wide. "What planet is he from?"

*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*
