Good Friday

Good Friday commemorates the day that God laid the sins of  all mankind on Jesus.  God the Father sent Jesus, the Son, into the world to die for our sins.  What an awesome love God displayed that day over 2000 years ago.

Christ, the only begotten Son of God, took on himself the shame, the humiliation of all the sins of the world as He was treated as a criminal and hung on a cross between two thieves.  Think of not only the painful agony physically, but the anguish of His mind and spirit as God, the Father turned His face from the Lamb offering bearing our sins.  It cannot be fully taken in.  Such love cannot but compell us to look into the face of the suffering Christ on the cross and bow down in worship and gratitude.

If only millions in this world today were to turn to Christ, what a tremendously profound difference it would make in the world.  The wounded Son of God lifted up would convey a love for all that would put hatred, prejudice, and malice to flight!

It is my prayer that all reading this today may catch the spirit of the selfgiving of Christ through the Holy Spirit.  Amen and Amen.
