GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  - 1 Peter 1:3-4(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

The Hope of the Resurrection

13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.  15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.  - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

NOTES

Today has been a cloudy day in Moore, Oklahoma, with high temperatures in the mid thirties.  I went out in early afternoon to Walmart and came back by Arby's and brought home a sandwich to eat.  Today is Pearl Harbor Day.  I remember the day quite well, 68 years ago, December 7, 1941.  I was 16 years of age, living on a farm with no automobile, no electricity, no inside plumbing and no telephone.  We did have a radio run from a battery.  In just two years on November 19, 1943, I would enter the United States Army and go off to war.  The war lasted until August, 1945.  I returned home on January 15, 1946 and married Flonnie, my sweetheart, on May 25, 1946.  Thousands and thousands of young Americans were killed during that war.  They saved America from being taken over by mad dictators.  So "Remember Pearl Harbor."

The cats are fine.  Three of them took a nap with me this afternoon.  They are all inside at present as the weather is quite cold outside.  Friendly is now asleep in my computer chair.

At 8:05 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 31 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
