GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD

9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it.  - 1 Peter 3:9(New Living Translation).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD

(Jesus said) 26 "Anyone who wants to be my disciple must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me."  - John 12:26(New Living Translation).

A QUOTE

It has been said that we can't always help what comes into our minds, but we have all the control in the world over what stays there.  - Bob Reccord -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER

It isn't necessary to put out the other person's light to make yours shine more brightly.

NOTES

We had light rain today in Moore, Oklahoma.  The rain started around 9:00 a.m. and lasted until about the middle of the afternoon.  High temperatures today were in the upper forties.  I attended church this morning.  I will again give a summary of our Worship Service in another paragraph.  I had a request to continue it.  I had lunch at home and then took my afternoon nap early in the afternoon.  My son, Ron, and wife, Angie, came about 3:30 p.m.  I have hired Angie to clean my house every two weeks.  She cleaned my house and did an excellent job of cleaning.  They left about 5:15 p.m.

Our Worship Service began this morning with the congregation singing "Come Into His Presence."  Pastor Doug Vernier gave the Welcome and Announcements.  Gilbert Hockett led the Praise and Worhip in Song with Doug Gulley playing the piano and Carol Hockett playing the organ.  Congregational songs were "Tell Me The Story Of Jesus", "Joy To The World" and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."  The prayer song was "Oh Come Let Us Adore Him."  Pastor Doug led in prayer.  An offeratory was played on the piano by Rachel Vernier while the offering was being taken.  Two couples were then called to the front and presented with Distinguished Service Awards.  The couples were Gilbert and Carol Hockett and Art and Violet Smith.  The Music Special was sung beautifully by Donna Vernier.  Pastor Doug's sermon was titled "Open Before Christmas'" with Scripture from Luke 1:26-36.  Pastor Doug dismissed with prayer.

The cats are fine.  They stayed inside until the rain stopped this afternoon.  I think they are all inside at present.  Friendly is asleep in a chair here in the study.

At 7:05 p.m. skies are cloudy with a temperature of 41 degrees.  I will see you next time.

In sincere Christian Love, Everett.
