Good Things

Sunday, August 10, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. - Romans 6:14(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

(The Lord said) 17 "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. 19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more." - Isaiah 65:17-19(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

In all losses, we can turn to the true Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who alone can heal our brokenness and grief. - Bill Crowder -

Thoughts to Remember:

Be a fault-mender rather than a faultfinder. - From Reminisce Magazine -

Christ's mission is our mission. - From Our Daily Bread -

Stand outside this evening. Look at the stars. Know that you are special and loved by the One who created them. - From Every Good Thing -

NOTES:

Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 93 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had the usual wonderful service with choruses, hymns and spiritual songs. The public school teachers who attend our church were called to the front and honored this morning. Then the children who attend the public schools were called to the front and prayed for and giving a pack of school supplies. Our church works with and supports William Gay elementary school which is just across the street from our church. Pastor JT's sermon this morning was titled "The Faithful Servant." I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon. Beau napped with me this afternoon. I put treats outside for the cats at 6:50 p.m. As soon as I finish the Good Things I will gather up the garbage and put on the street for pick up in the morning. Last week I did that before Good Things and was too tired to do Good Things. Thanks for everything, including emails, prayers and reading the Good Things.

The cats are fine. None are with me at present but Smokey and Rascal have been here and just left out to check out other places around the house and yard. I have seen all the cats this evening.

Have a Happy Monday (if possible). Everett

Editorial Note: With God and ones choice almost everyday can be happy regardless. Que
