A Friend's Mother

My deepest sympathy friend

In the losing of your mother

Of all the human beings on earth

There is closeness like none other

The one who bore you as a child

And watched you become a man

Has a special place in your heart

That only God can comprehend

The wonderment of human life

Being birthed forth from the womb

So closely knit that bond of love

Only severed by tomb

But great that joy that wells up within

When we entertain the thought

Our meeting again on the other side

Look what our God has wrought!

He who gives the breath to live

Is present at its last

And carries spirits to their home

To await the trumpet’s blast

Mothers again with their sons

And daughters at their side

Shall reminisce in eternity

With the Messiah and His Bride

Hallelujah! What a Savior!
