Good Things

Saturday, May 3, 2014

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:

(Jesus said) 33 "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light." - Luke 11:33(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:

1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. - Isaiah 59:1(New International Version).

A QUOTE:

Acting with grace and kindness toward others is one of the best ways to point people to God. - Dave Branon -

THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:

It's impossible to wring our hands when they are folded before God in prayer. - From Our Daily Bread -

May you believe that God can breathe new life into your dreams and fill your days with second chances. - From I Wish For You -

You can never make your dreams come true by oversleeping. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES:

Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 85 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. In early afternoon I went to Country Mart Store for a few items. I took a nap this afternoon with Tony. At around 5:25 p.m. I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken for some food to bring home for my evening meal and tomorrow. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the animals. Around 7:15 p.m., my cousin, Audie, her daughter, Sherry, her granddaughter, Wendy, and Wendy's two children (a girl and a boy) came to visit for a few minutes. They live at Moore, Oklahoma. They left at 8:00 p.m. Thanks for reading the Good Things. Thanks for your emails. I get lots of nice emails. I just have to share one with you tonight that makes me want to keep doing the Good Things. It is from Gail and I will leave it at the end of the Good Things.

The cats are fine. As usual, Rascal is with me and is asleep on the desk beside me. I have seen all of the cats this evening.

I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday. Everett.

Here is Gail's letter:

Hi Everett,

You don't do much! Well lets see, you check in on family and friends and show kindness by visiting with them and others so their days are a little brighter. You don't neglect the things in life that have to be done, even if you don't want too. You care for your kitties in a way that no others could, after all you took in Lucy when no one else would. You feed half the neighborhood every evening. And then after all the errands, caring others and self and God's creatures, you sit down, and research God's Words and put together Good Things, send them out to share His Word to all of us that need it so badly. And you say you didn't do much today. No Everett, you do a lot. It might not be a rigorous physical labor as you did were used to, but it is a much needed labor of love that you do for man and creature. You can never do too much praising God, spreading His Word or caring for his creations.

Thanks for all that you do. Have a great weekend, Gail
