Good Things
by E. Christian, McAlester, OKSaturday, June 30, 2012
GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
(Jesus said) 21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." - Revelation 3:21(New King James Version).
A QUOTE,br /> Christian faith is a grand cathedral with divinely pictured windows. Standing without, you see no glory, nor can imagine any. But standing within, every ray of light reveals a harmony of unspeakable splendors. - Nathaniel Hawthorne
A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
He who listens to what people say of him shall never have peace. - From Proverbs For Daily Living -
NOTES
Today has been a hot sunny day. High temperature today was 98 degrees with a low temperature of 73 degrees. My house cleaning lady came at 11:15 a.m. and cleaned my house while I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office and then to the cemetery. My napping friend today was Smokey. I put treats and fresh water out for the cats at 6:05 p.m. I only hear from a few people anymore concerning the Good Things and I appreciate them so much. I feel I should keep doing the Good Things as long as they are helping and being enjoyed by people. I just received an e-mail from Tom (a former pastor of mine). He just wrote to say "Howdy" and I appreciate his e-mail. If you haven't written me in a while why not take time to send me an e-mail. It will be an encouragement to me. Also let me know if you would like to be dropped from Good Things. I will send more pictures tonight.
I received this prayer request today from Alice Barrett of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please pray for her grandson. "Got a call yesterday that my grandson Jacob was in a car accident. He is 16, working this summer as a counselor at a YMCA camp in Virginia. Four young men in a Toyota SUV - the driver swerved to miss a deer in the road. He went into the ditch and the SUV rolled three times. Jacob's knee had to be stitched, that hasn't been mentioned again. He passed out when they took him to x-ray, so they admitted him and brought x-ray to him. He was transferred to the Trauma center, as he has a broken rib and an air pocket in his lung. He has 4 cracked vertebrae and a concussion. He says he is happy to be alive :) There will be more tests to see if surgery will be required for his spine. We are praying for healing, and praising the Lord believing for no surgery and God's perfect healing. Please ask your prayer warriors to join us in praying and praising."
The cats are fine. Lucy the stray stayed in the house a long time this afternoon. This is unusual for her so the hot weather must be bothering her. No cats are with me at this time.
Have a Wonderful Sunday! I will see you next time,
In Christian Love, Everett.
