Good Things
by Everett Christian, McAlester, OKMonday, February 13, 2012
GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel. - Proverbs 15:18(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISES TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
17 Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves. 18 A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. 19 Truly the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. 20 The LORD detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless. 21 Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free. - Proverbs 11:17-21(New International Version).
A QUOTE
Anyone who wants to live forever with God needs to say, "I do" to Jesus. - Ed Forster -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER
As we show Christ's light, we must be able to keep our heads about us and make sure we are showing the best Christ possible. - From Reflecting God -

NOTES
It snowed some last night but it was above freezing today so the snow was soon gone. We have had some light rain and drizzle most of the day. High temperature today was 36 degrees and the low temperature was 32 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went by the post office and then came home and have been inside the rest of the day. I took my nap in early afternoon with Smokey. I watched "Trains and Locomotives" at 5:00 p.m. on television. I put food and treats outside at 6:15 p.m. but only 2 or 3 cats went out and they didn't stay out long. I hear from some of you every day. You don't always mention the Good Things and that is fine as long as you read them. The ones I have heard from today via a forwarded e-mail or otherwise were Jennifer, Debra, DeLona, Geneva, Alice, Quentin, Audie and Mary Jo. I think it would be a shame not to share Debra's letter, not because of the nice things she says about me but the wonderful message that her letter contains. Debra is a dear friend to everyone she knows. Her letter will be at the end of the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Little Girl asleep on the floor in front of the heater and Rascal on the desk near me where I can boo head him once in a while. The others are inside somewhere.
I hope everyone has a nice Tuesday. I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett. *************************************************************************************************************************************** Here is Debra's letter:
Good Morning Dear Friend, A beautiful morning, with looking out and seeing the snow covering - reminds us of home, in Illinois - as Oklahoma sure doesn't get much snow - but each day is closer to Springtime and I see on the weather this morning, that Wednesday is to be Springlike:) Oh the weather in Oklahoma - can change in minutes?? Is a beautiful viewing, to see the cardinals, bluejays and then the robins - all gathered at the feeders together - a lesson to us all that the birds of a feather can flock together and get along - why can't the people of the world?? Was a great message in morning church yesterday - always enjoy the messages on Love and what greater Love than the Love of our Saviour? I know that you think of your dear Flonnie and we so enjoyed the reading of the Love Story of you and your Flonnie. Special to look back on, as Valentine's Day approaches and we hold in our hearts those special Valentine's in our life. Curt and I will celebrate our 34th anniversary in March -we have been blessed. I always enjoy the reading of our LOVE chapter in the Bible and Thank God for all the gifts that he has given to us. Be careful when out and about today and may you have a Marvelous Monday and a Blessed beginning of a new week:) In Christian Love and Appreciation, Debra
