Good Things

GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. - Titus 2:11-14(New International Version).

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD
12 But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. 13 When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. - Jeremiah 10:12-13(New International Version).

A QUOTE
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. - Francis of Assisi -

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER
Sandwich every bit of criticism between two thick layers of praise. - From Reminisce Magazine -

NOTES
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 46 degrees and a low of 27 degrees. The purple flowers on the petunia plant on my front porch are still blooming. I cover the plant with a blanket when it is supposed to freeze. This is the first Good Things of 2012. I didn't do a Good Things last night because when I got the garbage out and had a bite to eat it was past 8:00 p.m. and I had two Sunday papers to read so I rested from the Good Things. We will see how things go in the new year. I had lunch with Charley and our friend, Bill. Bobbi was our waitress today. I went to the post office but no mail. They say they will put mail in your box on holidays but I never get any mail in my box on a holiday. I had my nap this afternoon without a cat sleeping with me. I put out food and treats for the cats this evening but it was too cold to stay out as there was a north wind blowing. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m I watched a rerun of the Tournament of Roses Parade since I didn't get to watch it this morning. It was beautiful. In the last few years Eurasian Collared Doves have moved into our neighborhood. They are grey in color but I saw one today that was almost white in color. I will include a picture of one at the end of Good Things.
The cats are fine. Little Girl is on the floor in front of the heater. Rascal is asleep in the recliner. I haven't seen Lucy the stray today but that is not unusual for Lucy.
Have a nice Tuesday! I will see you next time.
In Christian Love, Everett.
