               Free at last

“When sad and lost in deep despair

I walked with sin and failed to care

I thought that Christ was just a word

And God to me was quite absurd

But now I’m blessed! You came my way

Your light and love you gave that day

The flame of Christ to burn within

To cleanse and keep this child from sin

You’ve set me free of Satan’s hold

You’ve brought me in and made me bold

From you my God I’ll never part

But live to serve with all my heart

Now blessed and saved from Satan’s snare

Salvation’s cup in Christ I share

You claimed my soul through swift release

And brought with love such joy and peace

Throughout my life this love I’ve yearned

Tears I’ve shed till eyes have burned

I bless the day, its wondrous dawn

The second time this child was born

My soul was bound but now is free

Through Christ in love I bend my knee

Repenting all my God before

The things I did I’ll do no more

I’m blessed I’m loved I’m so relieved

Now gone is he who once deceived

You have my heart the doubts have fled

To Satan’s filth this child is dead

Lord now I yearn to tell the earth

What life is like with second birth?

Your living truth that all may see

What Christ Your Son has done for me”.....

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
