The First Christmas Night

The First Christmas Night

Twas on a cold winter's night
when a star shone bright
over the place Jesus was born.
Angels sang to Him sweet lullabies
as all of creation looked on.

Twas in a lowly stable
where Mary delivered God's Son.
She wrapped Him in swaddling
clothes
to keep Him nice and warm.

Twas on the fields of Bethlehem
where shepherds kept watch o'er
their sheep
that an angel of the Lord told them
where a new King lay fast asleep.

Twas a miraculous sight to behold
on that first Christmas night long ago
when the King of Kings came.
For now God had come on earth
to dwell among men.
