NOTES
Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 88 degrees. Stephanie and Dillon came this morning and made my house as fresh as a daisy. They do great work. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I took a nap with Tony. I sat out with the cats a few minutes this evening. Thanks for everything, notes, prayers and reading the Good Things. I will leave a couple of letters that I received since the last Good Things at the bottom of this email. If I have missed printing your letter I may have lost it on this computer which is confusing at times so write me again.
My cats are fine. Rascal is lying on the desk beside me at present. I have seen all the others this evening.
Have a nice Saturday. Everett.
Here is a note from Thomas Gilham, Hewitt, Texas, a former pastor at the church I attend. Thanks again Everett. Your good things always are just what I need, My wife and I are not doing too well lately. But God is good for us . He keeps us going. Thanks again . Tom Thomas Gilham

NOTES
Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 85 degrees. I had lunch by myself as Charley had a luncheon at his church. Mellisa was my waitress today. I went to the post office, came home, took a nap, got up and went to Walmart around 3:00 p.m. I sat with the cats for a few minutes around 6:00 p.m. While sitting with the cats a squirrel came into the yard. Smokey got after the squirrel and sent it up a tall pine tree. A cat could never catch an adult squirrel.
Just to show you why I keep doing the Good Things I am going to include a few letters tonight at the bottom of the notes. If I don't get your letter in tonight I will get it published in the next Good Things.
The cats are fine.. None are with me at present but I have seen every one of them tonight.

Marvelous Monday
To Everett Christian Jun 1 at 7:40 AM Good Morning Dear Friend and Best Wishes come to You, this day for a Marvelous Monday ~~ THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!!
A beautiful morning dawns, as the sunlight glistens against the morning dew on the grass. It's going to be a good day, GOD IS GOOD!! We hear the birds chirping their morning songs, the leaves dancing in their own morning delight and we just say, "Thank You Jesus for a Brand New Day".
Today is much welcomed, as no rain is in the forecast. We have so much standing water in the yard, but hate to complain much about what we have been dealing with, when others have lost their homes from the water plus lives lost. Seems trivial to complain of standing water in the yard. It's a brand new day, and a brand new month - we put our trust in the Lord for what is ahead and our Thanks for all our blessings.
Was a good day of Sunday worship, so happy to have you able to be in services. I know sometimes it's the weather to keep you safe indoors and sometimes it's your back/health - so we praise God for the times we are able to share Sunday worship with you, dear friend.
The first 2 wks of July, Curt and I will be back Home, in Illinois with family. We will be worshipping with My Mom and our Home church family, the first Sunday we are there and then we will be with Curt's Mom and his family the second Sunday for Worship (they live 45 miles from where my Mom lives). They are both happy to have us be with them in church - an added blessing for us as well to share this time with them both. Of course, we will miss being in the church we now call our Home church here, but is always nice to be back Home with our families.
Appreciated The Good Things and as always, the chosen Scriptures that God puts upon your heart to share. THANK YOU, Everett for the time you take.
Have a Marvelous Monday today and may the 1st day of June, bring you blessings in abundance - one of my blessings is having you for such a good Friend.
God Bless You, Debra

Hi Everett! I have a new email address: mchlfil514@yahoo.com
I know I don't send emails very much. But as you know I look forward to Good Things to read before I got to bed. I keep you in my prayers. Michele

To Everett Christian May 31 at 11:47 PM Everett, thank you for all that's in Good Things. I'm always glad to see them when you have the energy to write them.
I have a request. Please keep Sasha in your prayers. She's okay, but has to have some extensive dental work done. Fortunately, the vet is willing to work with me as far as payments, and I will be working again doing editing for a friend of mine in Canada. She has to have anesthesia for this work and whether it's for me or Sasha, anesthesia scares me. I'm hoping she comes out of the procedure okay. My Canadian friend will be sending me some money for work I will be doing to help me start the procedure, plus I have some on my CareCredit card.
Other news - my helper, Tangie, is leaving. She got a better paying job, with benefits, but another helper I had, Curtis, just called me the other day and he will be coming back to work for me. I'm so happy, since I really like him. It will be helping both of us, since he needs more hours to get his car fixed - he's on the bus right now and I need his help.
My Aunt Nettie - my mother's last living sibling, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 22. It was tough on my cousins Susan and Raymond. I will miss her, but I'm also happy she's out of pain. My Uncle Ange (Aunt Nettie's husband) hasn't been doing too well either, so he might not last much longer.
As far as myself - I've been doing okay. Having my ups and downs, but basically fine. Blessings to you and your furkids. Michelle

To Everett Christian Jun 1 at 2:58 PM As sometimes happens, the scripture from Psalm 27:14
that you sent in the Good Things last night, was just what I needed.
A light on the dash in my car had come on and I didn't know what it was. It had been recalled recently due to something about the emission system, so I took it in and had it checked. It was okay and no light had come on. When the light came on I looked in the manual and it said something about he emissions control module again. So I didn't drive it Sunday (Barbara came and got me) but took it out today. When I started in to the parking lot of the dealer, another message came on saying something about the vehicle over heating. If I had driven it Sunday it might have burned up. The intervention of the Lord!!!
I had worried lots about what it could be and how much it would cost to get it fixed. I Prayed a lot too.
Today when they found out what it was, it was covered by warranty and I didn't have to pay anything. It was a broken seal on the water hose. The Lord sure answered prayer for me and I am very thankful.
Last night the scripture "be strong and lean on the Lord" from Psalm 27:14 told me that is what I should do so I told the Lord I was counting on Him to go before me and help it not to be an expensive repair. He sure answered my prayer since it was no cost to me. I am very thankful.
Have a nice afternoon ad thanks for the Good Things.

NOTES
Well, here I am back again with another Good Things. Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 73 degrees. The rain finally has stopped. We didn't have any rain last night or today and are not supposed to have any rain through at least next Sunday. But this is Oklahoma and you know things can change in a hurry. I attended church today. We had the usual wonderful service with hymns, choruses and spiritual songs. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Dreams of Faith." If you attend our church and did not attend today you were greatly missed. If you attend another church and did not attend today you were greatly missed I am sure. We should never miss church unless we are sick or providentially hindered. I am not sure if I will be back with Good Things tomorrow. Just check back to see. I sat out with the cats this evening for a few minutes while they ate their treats. Thanks for reading the Good Things.
My cats are fine. Emmy and Rascal were just with me but have now gone outside. I have seen all eight of them this evening.
Have a good Monday to start the week.
Everett.

NOTES
Today was partly cloudy in McAlester, Oklahoma, until around 3:30 p.m. then the rain started again. I don't hear any rain at present but it could start again any time. The weather forecast for tomorrow is for a partly cloudy day. We had rain all day yesterday. The lakes are still full and some roads are closed. Today being Memorial Day, Taco Bob's was not open. I went to Arby's for some roast beef and curly fries. My patio door did not have an outside lock with a key so I could come and go through that door and leave my house locked. Our friend, Bill, who eats with us quite often, found out about it and decided to install a lock so I could come and go from my den into the carport and not get wet when it is raining. He worked on it this afternoon but still needs to do a little more to it so he will be back. He is one of the most helpful people I know and likes to help old people like me. I appreciate those who wrote to me about the Good Things. I have some people who really do look forward to them and get help from them. I will do them when I can.
The cats are fine. Leo was just here and Smokey is sitting on a desk looking at me. He likes to be close to me a lot of the time.
Have a nice Tuesday,
Everett.

Memorial Day
If you live in the USA, you are celebrating Memorial Day. It is a national holiday to especially remember those who are fallen heroes on the battlefield. Thousands have fallen since this nation began for the cause of freedome. There has been a call from a national organization to stop at 3 p m this afternoon and take a minute of silence in honor of those who have fallen. I have two brothers who are now dead who served in the military. I remember their sacrifice in WWII. Thank God they returned home but I still would honor them this day. You may have close friends or relatives who have served in the military and have passed on. 3 p m a good time to join thousands of others who are taking time to think of them and their service to their country.[Add Your Poem]
