Good Things
Monday, June 2, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. - Romans 12:17-18(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. - Proverbs 28:13(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We find in life exactly what we put into it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
If you are tempted to lose patience with another, stop and think how patient God has been with you. - From Our Daily Bread -
Many an argument is sound - merely sound! - From Reminisce Magazine -
Your success can be achieved in two simple steps - find your dream - chase your dream. - From Go For It -
FACTS ABOUT CATS:
The cat has replaced the dog as America's favorite pet, with 66,000 pet cats in the U.S. compared to about 58,000 dogs. It has been said that it takes intelligence and understanding to win the affection of a cat. - From The Internet.
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 89 degrees. We had a little rain last night, about a tenth of an inch at my house. I had lunch today with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office. I took a nap this afternoon. Itty Bitty was with me part of the time. I put treats and food outside at around 6:10 p.m. and sat with the cats for a few minutes. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.
The cats are fine. Rascal is on a desk beside me at present. I have seen all the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday. Everett

GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
130 The unfolding of your words (O Lord) gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. - Psalm 119:130(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Gain all you can . . . save all you can . . . give all you can. - John Wesley's principles regarding money -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Attitude is the master key to life's little locks. - From Go For It -
The most important trip you may take in life is meeting people halfway. - From Reminisce Magazine -
When Christ is the center of your focus, everything else comes into proper perspective. - From Our Daily Bread -
FACTS ABOUT CATS:
The following was in today's McAlester News Capital:
"Midnight" is a nearly solid black five-month old kitten belonging to Jennifer Shelton. A baby cottonmouth snake came in under the door of Shelton's residence just outside of McAlester but Midnight was on duty and dispatched the offending reptile. Shelton stated she has spoiled the kitten since then, but Shelton was actually providing a loving home for Midnight , whom she adopted as a rescue cat.
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 86 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service singing choruses, hymns and spiritual songs. One of the songs that we sang was "Till The Storm Passes By." Another was "Jesus Paid it All." Another was "I Surrender All" plus others. Janet and Stan sang a special, "Because He Lives," one of my favorite songs. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Transformational Living: Clear the Way for Revival." I felt like I had worshiped today. I had lunch at home. I took my nap with two cats with me part of the time, Itty Bitty and Tony. I put treats and food out for the cats at about 6:10 p.m. and sat with them until 6:30 p.m. Thanks for your emails and thanks to my church friends who comment on the Good Things. The Good Things seem to help so many people that I just can't stop as long as I can keep going.
Tonight, I would like to welcome Daniel Porter to the Good Things. He is in the Marines and is stationed in California. He is the grandson of Don and Wanda Henderson. Welcome to the Good Things, Daniel, and God Bless You as you serve our country.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but they have been here and they will be back. I have seen all nine of my cats this evening.
Have a nice Monday to start the week. Everett

Good Things
Saturday, May 31, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. - Psalm 1:1-3(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. - Psalm 50:1(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
The most wasted day is that on which one has not laughed. - Nicolas Chamfort -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Aspire to inspire before you expire. - From Reminisce Magazine -
If we could earn our salvation, Christ would not have died to provide it. - From Our Daily Bread -
The happiness that comes from doing good is a happiness that will never end. - Chinese Proverb -
FACTS ABOUT CATS:
Mysteriously lovable and cunningly charming, domestic cats have captivated the hearts of humans worldwide. Cats are unlike any other animal domesticated by humans in that they came into our homes for food and no other reason. They make affectionate and loving pets, but still retain many of the features that allowed them to survive in the wild. - From The Internet -
NOTES Today has been partly cloud with a high temperature of 84 degrees. I had lunch with Charley while Kathy cleaned my house and Darren mowed my lawn. I went to the post office and then by Memory Gardens cemetery. I took a nap this afternoon. Smokey was with me part of the time. I put treats outside for the cats around 6:30 p.m. I watched the Lawrence Welk show from 1982 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. I appreciate your emails and I appreciate everyone reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. None are with me at present but they have been around and they will be back. They are all accounted for this evening.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday. Everett
