Good Things
Wednesday, April 9, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will perish. - Proverbs 19:9(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord - Proverbs 16:20(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
We don't know much about eternity, but we do know that for the Christian, whatever our emotional and physical struggles are now, they will cease then. - Marvin Williams -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
May your greatest joys not be in toys, may your best things not be things, and may your riches always be in the treasury of your heart. - From I Wish For You -
Things turn our best if you make the best of the way things turn out. - From Reminisce Magazine -
We are nothing without Jesus, so give Him the credit. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been a sunny day with a high temperature of 73 degrees. I had lunch with Charley. I went to the post office. I sat out in the back yard for a few minutes after I returned from lunch. I took a nap this afternoon. I don't know who napped with me because I had the window open by my bed that opens to the back porch. The cats could come and go at will. I put treats outside for the cats at around 6:05 p.m. and sat with them 5 or 10 minutes. Thanks for your emails and thanks to each one for reading the Good Things.
I would like for you to pray for my cousin, Audie, who had a pacemaker put in today. The last note I had from her daughter, Sherry, the pacemaker was working.
The cats are fine. I just checked the front patio door and Emmy, Itty Bitty and Tony came in. I get my exercise letting the cats in and out. I have seen them all this evening.
Have a nice Thursday. Everett.

Catherine M.F. Camarda
AriseArise you who walk among the dead;
Arise, and hold up your hands and head.
Do not allow your Spirit in darkness to sleep.
Do not allow your conscience to have running feet.
For time is short, and in a moments space;
time is, and will be gone, without a trace.
And all actions of wrong...in a life time done,
which then seemed like frolic and fun,
will cast its net to pull you in and down,
and no Light within you shall be found.
So be with conviction and stout heart
and Godly wisdom will impart.
To change course and start a new,
to change and be a new found you.
Ephesians 5:14 K.J.V.
Wherefore He saithe, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Chirst shall give thee light.
Good Things
Tuesday, April 8, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. - 1 Timothy 1:17(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him - for this is his lot. - Ecclesiastes 5:18(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
In a world that keeps the outcast at arms length, let's show the love of Christ and embrace the one who needs our care the most.
- Jennifer Benson Schuldt -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER God's glory shines through His creation. - From Our Daily Bread - May you see that happiness is found in what you have, not in striving for what you don't have. - From I Wish For You -
One sincere apology is worth more than all the roses money can buy. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 64 degrees. I had lunch with Charley, Bill, and our nephew, Denton, who had business in McAlester again today. I went to the post office. I took a nap this afternoon with Smokey. Darren and Kathy came this afternoon and gave my lawn it's first mowing for this year. It was beginning to need a mowing and they always do an excellent job on my yard. Darren also keeps my trees trimmed and in good shape. The red bud trees that Flonnie and I set out are in bloom now. At 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside for the animals. Thanks for reading the Good Things and thanks for your emails.
The cats are fine. Emmy, Rascal and Tony just came in from outside. After a bite of food, Emmy and Tony went back outside. Rascal is still in the kitchen having a bite of canned food. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Wednesday. Everett.

Bless Us All I stand in the courtyardof a school where children
line in individual classes
where small delicate hands
lay lovingly and patriotically
across their chest.
They stand as I do in aweOf the magnificent flag
As it dances majestically in the breeze
They repeat as one voice,
"I Pledge Alliance"
These children say those wordsIn reverence as they learn
the true meaning behind those words.
They are afraid of the recent events
They all wonder but in silence
"How long will it take before
we are destroyed?
Will I live to be old?"
"I Pledge Alliance to the FlagTo the UNITED States of America"
They say loud and proud
"One Nation, Under God"
Their eyes sparkle, and speak louder
“Land of the free and home of the brave”
I stand in the courtyard
of a school where children
line in individual classes
where small delicate hands
lay lovingly and patriotically
across their chest.
I silently say a prayer
To our God
That our generation wants To disappear.
"Heavenly Father
Allow these children, our
new generation to correct the wrongs,
bring back morality, kindness
and the ideals for which this country
was based."
Then as the Flag whips with aLoud crack in the wind
as if to snap to attention.
I hear
"God Bless America!"

Good Things
Monday, April 7, 2014GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:
1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. - Proverbs 17:1(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. - Psalm 46:2-3(New International Version)/
A QUOTE:
Alone, we sink. But clinging and growing together in the Lord, we can ride out every storm. Let's stick together! - David McCasland -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
I hope that you will always feel fearlessly free to be you. - From I Wish For You -
Love is the only thing that can be divided without being diminished. - From Reminisce Magazine -
Our greatest strength may be our ability to stand still and trust God. - From Our Daily Bread -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 66 degrees. We had a light rain shower around 7:00 p.m. I had lunch today with Charley and our nephew, Denton. I went to the post office for my mail. I took a nap with Smokey. At around 4:00 p.m. I went out to mail a letter and also went to the newspaper office to pay for my subscription for the next 3 months. While there I visited with my friend, Pat, who attended school with my daughter, June. Pat's birthday is the same day as mine in August. We keep saying that we need to get together on our birthday for a little celebration. I put treats and food out for the animals at around 6:00 p.m. before the shower came up. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Leo is the only one with me at present. He is in his usual place on the sofa. Rascal just came in and got on the desk and greeted me. I have seen all the kitties this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday. Everett.
