Easter Blessings (He is not here, for he has risen as he said he would Mt 28:6)An empty tomb
A victory sign
Death no more the conqueror
Our risen LordPromised fulfilled
No more slaves to sin and shame
Begin anewcovenant made
His wrath no more his mercy still
Tomorrow bringsMessage of hope
No more darkness through lack of faith
His Holy Spiritwill come to visit
Fear no more but courage now
Resurrection the giftIf accepted
No more shall we for anything lack

Friday, April 11, 2014 GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:(Job said) 25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see Him with my own eyes - I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me. - Job 19:25-27(New International Version),
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD 4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. - Romans 15:4(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Jesus died so that "whoever calls" on His name (Romans 10:13) can find forgiveness in His grace. - Bill Crowder -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
No force is greater than the power of God's love. - From Our Daily Bread -
The greatest ability is dependability. - From Reminisce Magazine -
When shadows fall and the path you walk grows dark, may the smile of God light your way. - From I Wish For You -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 72 degrees. I had Clam Chowder soup, chocolate cake, ice tea to drink for lunch today. This was the last day for the soup luncheons until next year. I ate with Charley, Bill and others who chose to sit at our table. The ladies from our church took up a whole table and I visited for about five minutes with them. I went to the post office and then by Memory Gardens cemetery. I took a nap this afternoon and I don't think a cat napped with me. At around 6:00 p.m. I put food and treats outside and sat with the cats for 20 or 30 minutes. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Lucy is the only one with me at present. Leo and Rascal were here but left out. Emmy, Smokey and Tony have also been around. I have seen all of the cats this evening.
Have a nice Saturday. Everett.

AN OLD MAN AND HIS CATS.By Everett Christian
Written May 5, 2012 He sits there every evening in the back yard lawn chair. The setting sun reflecting on the white color of his hair. He is all alone with his memories of days that used to be. How he married a sweet young lady and raised their children three. Now his sweet wife has gone to Heaven, they couldn't even say goodbye. As God took her from her easy chair to her home up in the sky. Sixty-two years they lived together through the sun, the rain, the snow. Their children grew up and left them then she would watch her flowers grow. Now he sits alone in silence, but wait what's that you see? There's a cat in a chair beside him and another just left his knee. There are cats of every color with names they understand. He will keep them all forever, even to the promised land. Someday soon he will see Jesus in that land beyond the sky. His dear wife there to meet him where people never die. So he sits there every evening with nothing left to do. Just a sitting and a thinking till his earthly days are through.

I hope your thoughts always keep you in good company. - From I Wish For You -
You have a special place in God's plan - may your steps be ordered by Him and blessed with peace today. - From Prayers and Blessings -
NOTES:
Today has been mostly sunny with a high temperature of 82 degrees. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office for my mail. I then went to the Petsense store and Walmart for my weekly supplies of cat food and human food. I took a nap this afternoon. When I went to sleep, Beau was with me, when I awoke, Emmy had joined us. I put food outside for the cats around 6:30 p.m. and stayed with them until around 7:00 p.m. The first iris of the season has put out a bloom. It is a yellow one. I took a picture of five of my cats this evening while outside. I will send you the picture if you request it, otherwise, I won't bore you with it. Thanks for your emails and thanks to everyone for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal is asleep on the desk close to me. Emmy and Leo just came in from the front. I have seen all of my kitties this evening.
Have a nice Friday.

Spring's Play Crocuses and daffodils start God's eternal play,Peeking out from winter's frosty cold.
Forsythia flowers proud to take their place,
Just as first performers fade and fold.
Each flower has a week or so,
Enjoying summer's sun.
They fill our lives with peacefulness and calm.
Every flower sings its song of praise,
To their Creator God,
Their fragrance just as David's lovely psalms.
The last to bloom are hardy mums,
With orange, pink and red.
Still, all will leave with winter's freezing cold.
When spring returns, the stage is set,
The actors wait their turns,
All listening for when,
God again will call.
