Good Things
Monday, April 14, 2014 GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:24 (God said) "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." - Genesis 2:24(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
81 My soul faints with longing for your salvation (O Lord), but I have put my hope in your Word. - Psalm 119:81(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Of all the duties enjoined by Christianity none is more essential and yet more neglected than prayer. - Francois Fenelon -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
God is always available to hear the prayers of His children. - From Our Daily Bread -
When you know you're right, I hope you never change or compromise just because you're outnumbered. - From I Wish For You -
You never miss what you never had. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy and cool with high temperatures in the fifties. I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to city hall and paid my water, garbage and sewage bill. I went to the post office for my mail. I took a nap with Beau and Smokey. I put treats and food outside for the animals at around 6:10 p.m. It was much too cool to sit out with the cats. I will go to Muskogee in the morning with Charley. He has an appointment with his urologist. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things.
Tonight about 2:00 a.m. central standard time, the moon will be in total eclipse and will appear to be red. Some call it a blood moon and there will be four of them in the next two years. Some think this has a lot to do with prophecy but I don't have time to get into writing about it. You can purchase a book titled "Four Blood Moons" at Walmart or your book store. I have the book but my daughter, Treva, has it now. It is written by John Hagee. I will not comment on the book on the Good Things but I would comment on it to you individually.
You that remember Jo and Paul Cox know that Paul died a few years ago. I had a note from their daughter, Sally, today. Jo is now in a nursing center in Tulsa. If you would like to have Jo's address and phone number let me know and I will send it to you.
The cats are fine. Lucy and Rascal are with me now. Lucy in the floor and Rascal in the recliner chair. Emmy and Tony went outside about five minutes ago. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a nice Tuesday. Everett

George D. Denson
In The Name of Jesus, Everyday I joyfully live. There is no doubt in my heart and mind,
That He is alive and real!
Others doubt and reject Him,
Some may secretly wish He was true.
There is no doubt in my heart and mind,
How about you?
In the name of Jesus,I fervently and faithfully pray.
There is no doubt in my heart and mind,
Though the answer might be long delayed.
Others have served Him,
And then left Him far behind,
With a Judas kiss of betrayal,
Like a "not well thought through" needless crime.
In the name of Jesus,Everyday I joyfully live.
There is no doubt in my heart and mind,
That through Him -- Salvation to us God joyfully gives.
Others have questioned His person and divinity,
Some even secretly wish He was true,
Long ago, I settled it in my heart,
How about you?

Sunday, April 13, 2014 GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:(Jesus said) 13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come." - John 16:13(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. - Colossians 3:15(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there can be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now...as I shall not pass this way again. - William Penn -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
Faith in Christ will keep us steady in the stormy sea of change. - From Our Daily Bread -
I hope that you tend well the garden of your soul. - From I Wish For You -
Some people make the world more special just by being in it. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a thunderstorm this evening starting around 7:45 p.m. It has passed over and the weather is quiet now. High temperature today was 77 degrees. I attended Worship Services this morning. We had a wonderful service with choruses, hymns, spiritual songs and testimonies. Richard sang a special song. Pastor JT's sermon was titled "Transformed Through The Cross: Where is God When it Hurts?" I had lunch at home. I took a nap this afternoon and I don't think a cat was with me. I put treats out for the cats at around 6:00 p.m. but the wind was blowing too much to sit out. I have to put the garbage on the street when I finish the Good Things. Thanks for your emails, thanks for your comments on the Good Things from people at church and thanks to everyone for reading the Good Things.
The cats are fine. Rascal is the only one with me and he is in the recliner chair. Some of the cats hide out when it thunders but it doesn't bother Emmy, Rascal and Tony. I have seen all the cats this evening.
Have a good Monday to start the week.
Everett.

Saturday, April 12, 2014 GOD SPEAKS TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY WORD:15 He (Jesus) said to them (the Eleven), "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." - Mark 16:15-16(New International Version).
GOD'S PROMISE TO US FROM HIS HOLY WORD:
(Paul and Barnabas said) 16 "In the past, He (God) let all nations go their own way. 17 Yet He has not left Himself without testimony. He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy." - Acts 14:16-17(New International Version).
A QUOTE:
Whatever our situation today, we can turn to the Lord and find forgiveness to make a new start. His love never fails! - David McCasland -
THOUGHTS TO REMEMBER:
I hope that you choose your destinations well as you journey through life, and that your confidence will be the bridge that carries you over doubt. - From I Wish For You -
May you enjoy the work before you today, approaching it as if God is the only One you're working for. - From Prayers and Blessings -
No one can steal your identity in Christ. - From Our Daily Bread -
Putting off an easy thing makes it difficult; putting off a hard thing makes it impossible. - From Reminisce Magazine -
NOTES:
Today has been partly cloudy with a high temperature of 79 degrees. Kathy cleaned my house while I had lunch with Charley and Bill. I went to the post office to pick up my mail. I took a nap this afternoon with Smokey. I put treats out for the cats at around 6:00 p.m. and sat with them for 5 or 10 minutes. I watched Lawrence Welk at 7:00. Tonight's program was from 1972. Thanks for your emails and thanks for reading the Good Things. If you would like to be dropped from Good Things let me know.
The cats are fine. Lucy, Rascal and Tony are with me at present. Lucy and Tony are lying in the floor and Rascal is lying on the desk near me. The others have been coming and going. I have seen all the cats this evening.
I hope everyone has a Wonderful Sunday. Everett
